New Chesterton Streamline S-Series is engineered tomeet the vast majority of plantwide applications withgreat reliability in service. But the S-Series goes beyondthe basics of fluid sealing, to address the economies of total sealing workflow. S-Series will streamlineinventory, simplify seal selection, reduce installationcomplexity and minimize total maintenance costs.

Optimized design for plantwide useS10 Single and S20 Dual Tandem are a matched pair of high performance, robust seals that makestandardization easy. These benchmark seals deliverthe reliability expected from Chesterton.

Common design with interchangeable partsThe S-Series is a complete system with common partsfor predictable performance and simplified inventory.No other seal family uses parts commonality betterthan the S-Series. Unique “cassette within a cartridge”design lets users swap out the S10 for an S20 in aminute. Face materials swap out to match serviceneeds while keeping spares to a minimum.

Outstanding performance and valueS-Series Seals can offer better performance becausethe weaknesses found in other common platform sealdesigns have been eliminated. Superior value comesfrom long-term reliability coupled with inventorysavings and workflow efficiencies.

Two-step “bolt & go” installationWith the S-Series, just bolt on the gland, tighten theset screws and go. Captive fastened centering padsmove out of the way at start up, and won’t get lostwhen it’s time to re-set impellers or re-seal.

Rebuilding options smooth workflowStandard options of factory or field rebuilds are easyto execute and economical. But with complete sealingcassettes available at attractive prices, it becomespossible to perform rapid re-sealing with no additionaladministration relating to rebuilding.

S-Series face geometry is designed with the aid of Finite ElementAnalysis (FEA) and computer fluid flow modeling. S-Series facesgenerate low heat to minimize face distortion for stable, reliableperformance.

Both S-10 and S20 Sealing Cassettes use the common S-SeriesGland. This unique “cassette-within-a-cartridge” design makes for easy handling and streamlined resealing. Get rapid, reliable re-seal by mounting a new cassette with all new parts and avoid rebuild adminstrative costs.

Fully Vented Gland ensures that liquidsurrounds the seal. Eliminates air spacesthat prevent barrier fluid flow andincreased seal operating temperatures.

High Flow Pumping Ring cools inboard and outboard seal faces in high temperature services. Aggressive bi-directional vanes combine withcutwaters to deliver high flow.

Tandem Configuration seals on the OD of both sets of seal faces. Proven design for the highest reliability undervarying conditions.

Balance Piston™ enables true hydraulicdouble balance with no moving O-rings tohang up and fail under pressure reversals.Patent pending, it eliminates the need forwide seal faces, which generate excessiveheat and contribute to O-ring failure.

Multi-Port Flush cleans better and preventslocalized thermal seal face distortion commonwith single port systems.

Floating Throttle Bushing for maximumsafety is standard. Fluids are diverted toquench and drain ports.

S-Series Common Parts reduce inventorywhile increasing options. The same gland isused for both the single and dual seals tomaximize flexibility. Interchangeable cassettesstreamline repair administration.

Optimized Seal Faces balance low heatgeneration and distortion to handle a plant’stoughest applications. FEA design and robustbody withstand high pressures and torquescompared to general duty designs.

Self -Centering Lock Ring™ is a patentedmechanism that ensures sleeve concentricityand squares the rotary face to the shaft duringinstallation. This prevents seal face wobble,increasing reliability in tough emissions andslurry services.

High Torque, Cushioned Drives eliminatemetal to seal face contact on all S-Series faces.Cushioned drives minimize shock andvibration. High strength drive pads resist shear load in tough applications.

Captive Centering Pads set precisepositioning automatically, then move out ofthe way at start-up. Non-sparking for safety,and never misplaced for future use.

Micropolished Faces reduce drag formaximum face responsiveness. Highlypolished surfaces ensure face tracking.Seal face hang-up is minimized.
