MESSAGE FROM FR. ROBERT

March 22, 2020 Fourth Sunday in Lent

Dear Friends, We live in a dangerous world. There are threats to our safety at all times, whether it is from unsafe drivers on the road…to illness…to terrorism. All these threats must be taken seriously and appropriate steps must be taken to protect ourselves as much as we can. But none of us live in a bubble. None of us is 100% safe from any threats. The threat of the day is of course the COVID-19 virus which is a pandemic and it has been affecting our daily lives, our schools, our jobs and our Churches. Daily and weekend Masses and all church activities have been cancelled. At the time of this writing the church does remain open daily for prayer. We are practicing social distancing. Everyone is experiencing difficulties whether it is unsuccessful trips to the supermarkets, managing children at home, schoolwork and job-related work, and of course isolation. How can we make it better? • Pray with the daily scriptures • Watch Mass daily online at www.guardianangelchurch.org • Pray the rosary • Connect with others online – or call someone who lives alone or is elderly • Continue with your Lenten sacrifices. • A free prayer resource being offered during this crisis The Magnificat at https://us.magnificat.net/home. Stay in touch! Visit the church website at www.guardianangelchurch.org Follow and like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/guardianangelchurchallendale and follow and like us on Instagram @guardianangel360. All information and updates will be posted on all social media platforms. How can we help others in this time of need? Practice the Corporal Works of Mercy...feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, clothe the naked, give alms to the poor. The bulletin this weekend will remind us of ways to help others while staying in touch with each other. God has given us the gift of faith to believe that He will be with us in our trials, and He will be with us in this one. But, God has also given us the gift of prudence. Let us use that one as well! In Christ, Fr. Robert

An Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Prayer from Pope Francis Asking for the intercession of Mary, health of the sick

during the COVID-19 pandemic O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

STEWARDSHIP

“Not as man sees does God see, because man sees the appearance but the Lord looks into the heart.” 1Samuel 16:7

How often do we invest our time, talent and treasure in creating an appearance that does not matter at all to God? We strive to impress with our clothing, home, career, possessions, car and other marks of distinction. But none of these illusions of great-ness will impress God. Instead, He will look into our hearts to see how much we loved Him, how much we loved others and how we showed that love by the way we used our time, talent and treasure here on earth.

During Lent, we prepare ourselves through prayer and giving back to our parish. But, with busy lives and active families, it's easy to skip a weekly tithe when you are unable to attend Mass or are out of town. This Lent, I want to invite you in joining me and many oth-ers at Guardian Angel in setting up recurring eGiving though Faith Direct. Thanks to eGiving, your weekly offertory will be automatically taken care of, which saves you time and saves our parish money by eliminating all those unused offertory en-velopes. Getting started is easy! Visit faith.direct/NJ513. Thank you for your continued support of our parish family.

Fr. Robert

As always thank you for your generous contribution to the parish especially is this current circumstance.
