Gracias a todos ustedes y su gran fe en nuestro Señor Jesucristo, he crecido enor-memente en mi corto tiempo de su parroquia. Gracias a todos por su compromiso con el Evangelio según lo evidenciado a través de su servicio y Ministerio en la parroquia y los alrededores de Uvalde. Tenga la seguridad de mis oraciones para todos los miem-bros de la comunidad del sagrado corazón. Me voy con muy buenos recuerdos de todos ustedes. Yo voy a vivír en el St. Peter Prince de los apóstoles y trabajando tambien en nuestra Señora de gracia la iglesia católica en San Antonio. Pienso que voy a ver algunos de ustedes cada vez que visiten San Antonio! To the parishioners of Sacred Heart Catholic Church: I wish to express my sincere thanks to all of you for the kindness shown to me over these last 5 months. Thanks to all of you, and your great faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, I have grown tremendously in my short time in your parish. Thanks to everyone for your commitment to the Gospel as evidenced through all of your service and ministry both in the parish and the surrounding area of Uvalde. Please be assured of my prayers for everyone in the Sacred Heart community as I depart this week with fond memories of all of you. I will be living at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles and working both there and at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in San Antonio. Hopefully I will see some of you whenever you visit San Antonio! I leave in sadness as I will miss all of you but also with excitement for what the Lord has in store for those who trust in Him. Emboldened by the Holy Spirit, in God we trust and in Christ we serve! YOUTH INFORMATION

If any youth from junior high or high school is interested in joining

the parish Lifeteen/Edge Core team in World Youth Day 2016– call

to sign up for the FREE event during this Jubilee Year of Mercy. The

deadline to sign up will be Monday, July 18th so don’t forget to

call the office. Although this event is for the youth, families are invit-

ed to this event and may participate. Families can get more infor-

Family Conference

All junior high and high school youth are in-

vited to the Thirsting for Truth conference at

Prince of Peace Catholic Church in SA on

Friday, August 5th and Saturday, August

6th. The cost will be $50 per youth and will

cover hotel expense, T-shirt, meals, and

conference.

The conference on Friday will feature a live

presentation from Christopher West suitable

for the youth that will explore the ancient but

forgotten truth that our deepest desires of

body and soul are meant to lead us to the in-

finite, to God. Saturday presentations will

cover Parent talks, Young Adult talks and

Teen talks.

For those that are registered: VBS is from June 27th-

July 1st / 9:00am to 12:00 noon in the Parish Hall.

You must be dropped off in the Parish Hall and not by

the CCD doors.

Volunteers report to the Parish Hall by 8:30am

To those that contributed monetary or by bringing in supplies, on behalf of CCD we cannot thank you enough. The young children will benefit from your generosity. Thank you again and we ask you keep the volunteers and the children in your thoughts and prayers during this years Vacation Bible School. Let us all remember, as our theme indicates, to follow Jesus, the

light of the world!

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS

In the second collection today, we are supporting Pope Francis in

his charitable works. The Peter’s Pence Collection is taken up

worldwide to support our brothers and sisters. In this Jubilee Year

of Mercy, the collection is an opportunity to join with Pope Francis

and be a witness of charity to our suffering brothers and sisters. Please be generous.
