Length is recommended to be within 100in. Record actual length.

Maximum Vehicle Weight (without drivers & payload) is reccomended to

be within 160kg. Record Actual Weight.

All steel frame members must be joined to each other using welding.

Bolted members are not allowed.

Efficycle must have only 3 wheels in only tadpole (2F1R) configuration.Delta (1F2R) configuration is prohibited.

Efficycle must have seating capacity of 2 riders and the vehicle should

be able to be driven by both riders simultaneously or alternatively.

Vehicle must be capable to accommodate two drivers each of 6’3” height

and of 115 kg weight (maximum allowable dimension & weight of drivers) .

A. Vehicle Configuration

Local TI CommentTeam's CommentRulebook Parameter

Vehicle must have the arrangement (utility box) to carry 20 kg payload.

Maximum Vehicle Dimensions measured without drivers riding the

vehicle should be 55in x 60in (Width x Height) including all rigid,

movable & projected parts.

Utility box must have the base dimensions 16”x12” and 8" height.

Utility box should be close from top and mounted rigidly on frame.

If the vehicle frame is made up of steel or alloy steel, the bending

strength & bending stiffness of the cross-section must not be less than

bending strength & ending stiffness of 1" dia and 2mm wall thickness

cross section of material having 0.18% carbon.

(Check Calculations and comparision with reference material values).

In case of other than circular section is used in steel frame, the wall

thickness must not be less than 1.5mm even if the bending strenght &

bending stiffness are satisying the above rule.

If the vehicle frame is made up of Material Other than Steel, it must

be metal or composite only.

(In all such cases, prior approval of Technical Committee is required,

Check the written mail approval copy regarding material specification,

joining method etc.)

Team must have a material testing certificate for the material used in

frame, which should have material composition and strength cearly

mentioned.

[Material Testing Certificate to be carried in original at main event.]

Beding Strength & Stiffness criteria must be satisfied for material other

than steel too.

(Check Calculations)

All rigid parts of the vehicle must have minimum 8 inch clearance from

the ground. Measurement of the clearance with all parts (pedal, chain,

cables etc) shall be taken in their lowest rigid positions with both

drivers in normal riding conditions. Wheel assemblies or parts directly

mounted to the wheel/wheel hub or parts which can rotate shall not be

taken into consideration.

All the drivers’ body parts, which are not in direct contact with the vehicle,

must have at least 3 inches clearance from the frame in all static &

dynamic conditions.

Both the drivers must maintain the 3 inch clearance comfortably between

each other in all static & dynamic conditions.

The frame should be capable to protect the drivers from the ingress of

debris etc during running on different tracks.

There must be individual seats for both the drivers. Use of cushions or

pads directly mounted on the frame will not be considered as seat.

The frame must be capable of keeping the occupants safe at the time of

collision in case of impacts from Front, Side, Rear or Rollovers.

[Technical Inspectors must take judgement in this regard. Any necessary

changes to ensure the maximum protection may be instructed during technical

inspection at main event.

Teams should justify their method of protection.]

both drivers' torso).

Torso support must end not more than 2 inch below the driver shoulder.

Torso support must be ensured in all static & dynamic conditions.

Side by side seats or Front-Rear seating positions are allowed.

The seating height, measured at H-Point of the drivers in normal sitting

positions) must not exceed 28” for both the drivers. (H-point is located by

line depicting torso and thigh and will be measured from a horizontal plane

passing from ground.)

A member (linear or curved or loop) must be welded to the main frame

which will act as seatback supporting member. Strength of the member

should be ensured by the technical inspector, any required changes may

be instructed.

In case of fixed seats (non-reclinable) the member must be welded just

close to the seatback and no significant gap should exist.

In case of reclinable seats, the seat back supporting member must be

welded at the maximum recline position, & not beyond that.

Shoulder Belts must be mounted minimum 4 inch above the shoulder

level of the drivers.

Lateral Distance of shoulder belt mounting point from the longitudinal

centre plane of the seat must be minimum 8 inch (when measured at 4

inch above the shoulder level of individual driver.)

Longitudinal Adjustments can be provided in the seats. Locking system

must be provided in adjustmeny system.

Each seat must be equipped with 3-point OEM seat belts for individual

drivers. Cam-locks, Shoulder strap, side release button locks etc not

allowed.

Shoulder belts must come across the outboard shoulder of drivers and

should be buckled to the lap inboard.
