The mission of the Catholic communities of St. Blaise and St. Brendan is to be a people united in the Eucharist and dedicated to spreading the Good News of God’s sav-ing love to all. We seek to encourage the full and active participation of all God’s children and be a place where they can come to know, love, and serve God. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we give witness to the teachings of Jesus Christ by actively living the corporal and spiritual works of mercy, thereby being signs of God’s love in the world.

Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time ~ We are a “tuned in” people. Connected to the world 24/7. The blessing of being able to keep in touch with friends and family, and keep up with “breaking news” has its draw-
backs. In this environment it can be hard to hear God’s voice. Today’s reading has the perfect antidote. Jesus said to the apostles, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” Not everyone can go away on retreat, but most of us can carve out some time, even just a few minutes in the day, to sit with the Lord. If there is an Adoration chapel nearby, stop in. Sit and rest in the love of God!
The food pantry is in need of cereal as well as rice, potatoes and mac & cheese this month. We can always use fresh fruit or snacks for the Summer Sandwich Pro-
gram as well. If you would like to donate deli meat for the Sandwich Program, please
contact Sue Durkin 508-966-2862 to schedule deliv-ery. Please keep the food pantry in mind during the summer months when donations are low. Thank you
for your continued support.
