Thank you for your support. Father Mecca
Please remember St. Peter Parish when preparing
your will. A legacy to the church eases your tax bur-
den and helps continue the good works of our parish.
The Bishop has given us clearance to resume
Mass indoors beginning the weekend of June
13/14, if we can prepare ourselves in time,
but no later than the weekend of June 27/28. Since I have
not had enough time to process all the information, and
evaluate how long it will take to meet the 21 item checklist
required for opening, and coordinate with Fr. Leonel and
the quasi-parish, I will announce next week when our parish
will begin Masses. At the same time that we begin Sunday
Mass, we will resume weekday Masses, funeral Masses,
and weddings. There are a tremendous number of things to
have in place before we can celebrate public Mass, includ-
ing a reservation system (so that we don’t exceed the num-
ber of people allowed and are not forced to turn people
away) and the enlisting of teams of volunteers at each Mass
to check people in, lead them to seats, and sanitize at the
conclusion of Mass. As you can imagine these steps are
only a portion of the details we must work out. By next
week I will have a clearer idea of where we stand and an-
nounce our return via our streamed Mass, bulletin, and web-
site. As they say, stay tuned. Again, if you are comfortable
with being present at Mass (and younger than 65), I would
appreciate your help on weekends. For our parishioners
who will opt to remain at home for a while longer, we will
continue to live stream of at 10:30.
I wrote last week about how we picked up on our
parish-quasi-parish collaborative meetings and the progress
to date. We received an email this past week with our next
date with the Bishop. On June 8 we will have our next
zoom meeting at which time we will iron out the financial
relationship between the two of us. That will be the very
last piece of the puzzle and then the Agreement can be writ-
ten and presented for approval by each council and the Dio-
cese. On July 1, the beginning of the new fiscal year, the
Agreement will go into effect.
Let me continue to announce that the Mass book for
the remainder of this year is now open. We cannot reach all
the parishioners as we normally would do, so I don’t know
how well the word is out. No change is taking place with
our Mass schedule, so we can now accept intentions. You
may call the office or email your requests to of-
[email protected]. Many people have waited patiently.
We are ready to assist you with Masses for loved ones.
Our parish family experiences many deaths and we
acknowledge the passing of our parishioners in the bulletin
and pray for the repose of their souls at Mass. I do not
write about the deceased in my column, but today I want to
mention the passing of Sister Helen Blodgett, SCN who
was born and raised at St. Peter Parish. She is the sister of
Ruth Blodgett. As a child, Helen was baptized here and
attended our school. She went on to Immaculate High and
was a member of the first graduating class in 1966. From
here she went to Spaulding College in Nazareth, Kentucky
where she came into contact with the Sisters of Charity of
Nazareth. Attracted to them and to their charism, Helen
entered the community. Sister Helen spent the majority of

PENTECOST SUNDAY
***SAINT PETER SCHOOL NEWS***
We are having so much fun having our students
and sometimes staff lead morning prayer! This
past week Fr. Mecca also had a turn! The stu-
dents loved his message about the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Our staff and students continue to thrive with emergency
remote learning practices. School may have closed, but
learning continues to grow!
Please be sure to follow St. Peter School on Twitter and
Facebook to keep up with the latest news.
Pope Francis explains the gift of wisdom best: “it is the
grace of being able to see everything with the eyes of God.”

2020—-In accordance with the state
and Bishop Caggiano’s plans to return to normal practices
we are planning for the First Communion Masses to take
place on Saturday July 11. Please visit the parish website
for additional information and the online First Communion
Home Retreat. All students are required to email their final
project to [email protected] . We look forward
to receiving completed projects.
Registration 2020/2021

danb.org. Go to Faith Formation and click on ―Religious
Education Registration‖ for all details. There will be no in
person registration times in the office. All registration forms
must be mailed.
My Catholic Faith Delivered
Students who are using MyCatholicFaithDelivered.com
please remember that you must complete up to chapter 20.
Letters were mailed last week to students who need to com-
plete their work.
Once you have completed the chapters you will receive a
final assessment that must be emailed to stpeterfu-
[email protected] by June 10. Advancement to the next
grade will be based on your Mass attendance, class atten-
dance and midterm grade (prior to the closure) and the
chapters you have adequately completed.
Stay Well and Prayerful!

We offer our condolences to the families of
Sr. Helen Blodgett
Elsie Paquette
who passed away last week.
her ministry in social services, and as a mental health and
substance abuse counselor in Philadelphia. She attended St.
Patrick Church in Philadelphia and served there in ministry
positions as well. Sister Helen died unexpectedly here
while visiting Ruth. I conducted her graveside ceremony
on Thursday at St. Peter Cemetery where she was buried
with her parents and family members. I do not know how
many St. Peter parishioners gave their lives in service to
Christ in His Church, but I know this one. We thank God
for one of our own, for her witness to the love of God and
her service to His children broken and bruised. May God
grant her eternal rest.

COMUNIDAD HISPANA SAN PEDRO
gelio.
Dios los bendiga, hermanos.
COMMUNITY CONCERNS COMMITTEE—-would
like to thank all those who continue to contribute to the
Good Samaritan Fund. We are able to pay rent for four
families and purchase grocery store cards for the past two
months for those unemployed within our parish. Thank
you.
