    Twelve

    individuals from 4 harems were surveyed (7 in both

    June /July and September). Th e largest female, secon d

    largest and third largest in each harem are shown by

    circles, triangles and squares, respe ctively (the fourth

    female in harem 2 is shown by squares and broken

    lines). The th ird female in harem 4 disappeared on

    the fifth evening in June/July. The largest and third

    largest in harem 4, the largest in harem 2, and all fe-

    males in harem 3 al l d isappeared before the survey in

    September. D ue to a typhoon, the las t day of egg-col-

    lect ion for harem 2 in Septem ber was dis turbed, no

    sp: no spawning; ?: no egg-collection; @: new m oon ;

    9 full moon.
