In addition bus drivers and bus aides will have the option to receive their insurance rebate (if eligible) in the form of an hourly rate increase. This will be calculated as follows and rounded to the nearest $.05:

(annual insurance allowance - (annual cost of chosen health + annual cost of chosen dental)) / 930 hours

This insurance rebate hourly rate increase will be adjusted at the start of each plan year, which is currently October 1st. During open enrollment each year bus drivers and bus aides will be given the option to receive their normal insurance rebate check in December, or elect the additional hourly rate increase instead. Whichever option is selected it cannot be changed until the next open enrollment period.

During the period July 1, 2017 - September 30, 2017 all bus drivers and bus aides will receive the additional hourly rate based on their currently selected health and dental plans. The insurance rebate hourly rate increase for plans effective July 1, 2017 - September 30, 2017 are shown to the right for each combination of dental and health insurance:
