Game Talk:
Last Time Out
“Concentration right now is just on us. We are aware of Rochester, we’re aware of their players and what they do, but needs to be on who we are and what we do and getting better every day, every game.”
— Head Coach David Brandt
“Rochester usually plays 4-4-2, very tight defensively. We’re going to focus on defending and being strong in the tackle. We’re adapting to [Coach Brandt’s] style of play every day.”
— Defender Willie Hunt
Game Notes:
Team Rosters:
Pittsburgh: Rochester Rhinos
· The Riverhounds (2-7-3) look to win back-to-back matches for the first time since August 8, 2015 this weekend in Rochester. The Rhinos (5-4-3) met the Hounds in Pittsburgh earlier this year with Rochester coming out on top, 1-0.
· Pittsburgh snapped a three-game losing streak with a victory over FC Montreal last weekend. The team effort was a stellar one, as the Hounds finished with a season-high in shots on goal (6) and defensively set season lows in shots allowed (6) and shots on goal allowed (3).
· Saturday’s matchup is a crucial one, as the Hounds currently sit nine points out of the eighth-seed in the Eastern Conference. The Rhinos are tied with eight-seed Orlando City B at the moment in points (18), holding the seventh-seed, respectively, and have dropped three of their past five matches.
