We have spent years investing in and fine-tuning our CONNECT central database. Now full transparency and real-time operational statuses and lab results are easily available via iPhones, tablets or desktops. Connect is our innovative Saybolt Order Management System. It is a unique platform in the oil surveying and inspection industries. Connect is a global data warehouse secured by API technology. The information is freely available and accessible for registered Saybolt clients.

Prior to the implementation of a new contract wewillhavealsoexpandedthedashboardwithan environment that will transparently show the ETA, ETB or ETC and actual berthing and completion times of the vessel or barge.
This is intended to be an application that shows relevant information, in a similar format to the display screens that you currently see on airport flightinformationboards.
After the vessel has tendered her notice of readiness or the barge has arrived at the installation, we will transparently show - within the dashboard environment - whether she is immediately directed to the berth or if she is encountering a waiting time.
Your operators will receive the latest info in the LiveQ dashboard. So planning can be adjusted, terminals can be instructed and the latest data can be used planning the availability of products etc.
Bymeansofinnovativetechnologywewillpresentaredbarthatvariesincolourfromlighttodarkredasthewaitinghoursexpire.This timeline is intended to assist your logistics managers with their planning processes and also help them try to achieve a faster turnaround.
This timeline is also helpful in situations where you may need to challenge demurrage claims, from ship/barge owners.

With a mobile device in his hand, your operator is perfectly in control because he is able to see the progress of his cargo at each and every stage.
Saybolt UPDATE allows real-time and mobile monitoring of our inspection processes, lab progress and monitoring data in relation to quantities. Every step we take for you can be tracked and traced on an iPhone. Personal settings and preferences can be easily programmed.Itisalmostasifyouareconnectedlive,standingnexttoouremployees.
Inspectors enter the data in the central database with mobile devices as soon as field jobs are finished or measurements are known. Even before driving back to base, if at all possible. Chemists in the lab use the same database to enter the quality results.
When performing an inspection, our inspectors enter the inspection details through our operating reporting system into CONNECT.
By entering relevant information directly into the inspection report and with theuseofa3GorWIFIconnectionthisinformationisstoredrightaway.Thisallowsourofficestaffinstantaccesstotheinformationandtheopportunitytoimmediatelyforwardtheinformationontothecustomer(s)involvedintheoperation.
To further increase the speed of reporting, we recently launched in Rotterdam our latest mobile App called SAIL Lite, which is currently being rolled out to all other Saybolt locations.

LEP facilitates a comprehensive and coordinatedlaboratoryeffort,designedtomeet quality objectives and direct and control ourorganizationwithregardtoquality.
Westriveforascoreofaminimum95%.Currently,theaveragescoreofourlaboratoriesis92.7%.Ourscoreispublishedeveryhalfyear and is discussed during our bi-annual area managers’ meeting. In this way we ensure that a high commitment from upper managementeffectivelymaintainsahighlysuccessfulLEPprogram.Yourgoalisourgoal.
All of our laboratories are currently participating in various proficiency testing schemes.
A central global coordinator takes direct responsibility for the coordination of the proficiency testing and the collection of the test data. He reviews all data on a global scale and shares all results with the participating laboratories and initiates corrective measures if and when required.

Slips, trips and falls constitute the majority of our industry incidents and that is why we launched a campaign with the theme “Look before you step”, aimed at reducing the number of STP related incidents.
Toensurethatallstaffpayincreasedattentiontotheimportance of this strategy we created a ‘Preventing Slips, Trips&Falls’poster,whichisconspicuouslypostedateachSaybolt location and is available in English, Spanish, Russian and Chinese.
We also encourage the use of the Napo series of films. Animated videos that feature characters in the world of work, faced with safety issues. The main character Napo and his partnersexpressthemselvesinwordlesslanguage.Their stories have an educational value. They provoke questions and stimulate debate on specific aspects of safety at work. They provide practical new insights or lead to them.
Our campaign has not only resulted in a reduction in our LTIR, it also gives you the confidence that you are dealing with a company that wants to meet the highest standards of safety.

Oursecondmajorconcernisroadhazards.In2014our focus lies on alert driving.
Adefensivedrivingprogramisofferedtoallemployeesandismandatoryforallstaffdrivingcompany vehicles, especially Saybolt field inspectors. The program is focused on identifying and mitigating any and all identifiable risks, usinglocalizedcontentandthenmonitoringtheindividual driver, to ensure the intended results are achieved.
A Saybolt employee begins with safety training on day one. Allnewlyhiredstaffattendgeneralsafetytrainingandjobspecificsessionsone.g.dangerousgoodsawareness,risksinthelaboratory,sliptripsandfalls,roadhazards,IATAregulationsforsampledispatch,lifesavingrules.
Inadditiontoclassroomtrainingweorganizetoolboxmeetings,forinspectors,chemistsandofficepersonnel.Typicalsubjectsare:learningfromincidents,sharingsafetyexperiences,do’sanddont’s,preparation for winter conditions. Participation is registeredandmonitoredbytheHS&Eofficers.Weprovide supporting meeting materials, such as videos andexercises,fromourownsources,clientmaterialsor materials from third parties.
Ongoing training and accountability on every level help us to improve and maintain standards well beyond most companies’ requirements.
With the use of the Sail Lite mobile App our Inspectors are able to report their safety observations direct into CONNECT.
Atobjectlevel(terminal,vessel,tanks)youwillreceive a periodic overview of all day-to-day safety observations, made in connection with your jobs.
This enables you to encourage your suppliers to take corrective measures if required, or to make well considered decisions regarding the choice of objects to use in your logistics chain.
Safety has even become part of the performance evaluation of our employees. All of our employees will be required to report at least one safety observation each year.
This initiative challenges our workforce to achieve a higher level of safety awareness in the environment in which they work and live. It also allows us, as a company, to have clear evidence that it is resulting in increasedsafetyawarenesswithinourorganization,which is obviously the main objective of this initiative.
