New knowledge New contacts New opportunities
A common labour market is now forming again in the
Baltic Sea region. The mobility of labour is increasing
and calls for skills uniformity and more knowledge about
the region. New market conditions allow developing
cross border entrepreneurship and involving skilful and
integrative labour force in various spheres of business.
Schools and other institutions providing vocational
training needs to adapt to the new market conditions in
order to give an adequate response to the market
needs. The question of internationalisation of vocational
education and training (VET) is not a matter of choice
but a matter of necessity.

Existing vocational training systems traditionally tends to focus only on the local market.

There is a lack of tradition of working in the SB-region among vocational graduate.
Testing methods and seek solutionsThe objectives of the SBTP project are:
A) Support internationalisation of the Vocatinal education (VET) and the cross-border entrepreneurship between countries in the SB area.
B) Develop and implement the educational testing model where VET-students get the possibility to get a cross-border education and carry out an internship within the SB area.
C) Identify the problems that constitute bottlenecks for the internationalisation of VET-education and cross-border entrepreneurship cooperation.
D) Out of the project experience, create recommendations for stakeholders (VETs, the business sector, authorities and politicians) for the further development of these issues.
