Hobart is an industrial kitchen equipment company that makes

machines such as deli slicers, meat tenderizers, and processors.

During the redesign of this 17 year old product, we worked

frequently with Hobart engineers. The new design must be safer,

easier to clean and more usable, while still maintaining its trusted

“Hobart” performance.

The shape of the slicer is tapered for a more approachable angle to operate.

Its form also makes it adaptable to t almost any counter space.



The arm may be removed for easy cleaning. A small power washer is built into the baseof the slicer. To operate the system, you

must rst hook up a hose that runs water

into the machine and then another hose

running out, to dispose the excess water.

Pull the knob out to turn the machine on,

and then push in to turn off. The height of

the blade can be adjusted by turning the

knob.



Nineyards Wine Companion is the perfect package to take

your wine to go. Nineyards merchandise is handcrafted

with lustrous natural materials. Included in package are

two wine glasses, a wine guide, and a bottle stopper that

works as a cork screw as well. The Wine Companion is

one of three beverage packages by Nineyards that supply

all the peripherals for your drinking needs.



The mid-section of the tool can be adjusted

to accommodate for varying heights.

The handle ts comfortably in your hand for

both turning and lifting.

The most unappealing aspect of gardening

is managing pesky weeds, and now the

hassle, just got a lot easier, with a tool

that limits the action of bending down.

Ergonomic principles were applied to thedesign of this product. This garden tool is

adjustable and functional for both left and

right handed users.

Adjustability

There is an auger bit at the end of the tool

that screws into the earth and grabs the

roots of the weed. The weed is lif ted out of

the ground by pulling up on both handles.



A gas pump should offer more services than just

refueling gasoline. In a group project, we looked at

several possibilities to make the experience more

efcient and more desirable.

“Polipo” is a multipurpose toy that can be

played with either in or out of the tub; although,

its intended use is for bathing. When you

squeeze the head of Polipo, foam soap shoots

from the tentacles. Polipo is part toy, part soap

dispenser that makes bath time extremely fun

and easy. The size of the head is a comfortable

t for children age’s two to four, and adequate

for adults, if they choose to wash their children.

The sponges can easily

be changed, due to the

exibility of the silicone

tentacles and the

elasticity of the sponges.

Underneath the silicone tentacles are

tiny perforations to keep the sponge

saturated with soap and water. While

washing, squeeze Polipo’s head to

dispense more soap as necessary.

Polipo comes with a docking suction cup stand

that can be placed on the tub or walls.

SpiceHood, a cooker hood with integrated

spice rack and dispenser system, designed to

help reduce clutter around the kitchen while

simultaneously encouraging the use of herbs

and spices. The appliance removes the need

to store numerous containers around the

kitchen and keeps them within reach during

the cooking process.

This specialized hood works like a

dehumidier to condense the moisture from

the air and keep the spices at a cool constant temperature. Hot vapors are sucked in from

the bottom and pass through cold coils in the

condensation chamber. Moisture from the

air condenses on the set of coils and cool

dry air is blown onto the spices. The distilled

water that is collected from the condensation

chamber drains to a hose that can be hooked

up to your refrigerator for drinkable water. Cool

ambient air is also sucked in from the top to

regulate the temperature
