Increase safety in the yard by decreasing density.

This goal is the result of on-going concerns from the school community.

Ongoing Continuation of House Leagues during lunch hours and the purchase of new safe playground equipment. Also, restriction on hard balls and certain games.

Safety concerns regarding student discipline and behaviour.

This goal is the result of on-going collaboration among staff, students and parents. It also supports the Ministry/Board guidelines and policies.

School Resources Code of Conduct (Progressive Discipline)

Ongoing Safe School Committee implemented and Code of Conduct with progressive discipline framework.

Create a more inclusive, welcoming, safe and bully-free environment.

This goal is the result of on-going collaboration between school community and the increased efforts of the staff. Positive behaviour is acknowledge and celebrated through 'Peace' bracelets and 'Certificates'.

Ongoing Increased pride in the school and a reduced number of bully-type incidences.

School goal to promote student awareness of 'doing good deeds' and encourage socially acceptable behaviour and provide positive reinforcment of these in the classrooms and throughout school - 'Gotcha Tickets' to be awarded for positive deeds committed around school.

-Students to be awarded in classroom or at assemblies with divisonally appropriate rewards - 'eating lunch with peer'; movie pass, books etc

Safety concerns regarding access to school.

This goal is the result on Board approved access systems. School was identified in April 2006 as a pilot school however software is still in development.

Ongoing Toronto Catholic District School Board

Board-wide resources Action to be taken Back and side doors are locked and staff has been provided with access cards. Visitors are asked to sign-in and -out and wear a badge when on school premises.

Note: The principal will report to the school community on the effectiveness of each strategy at the end of the year how the plan worked based on the evidence of improvements.
