TRANSCRIPT
When you’re a manufacturing business, the quality of your product is largely dependent
on the quality of the tools and machines you use to make that product. Skills and
experience certainly matter, but even the best craftsman will struggle to do their best
work when using inferior tools.
Just like any other manufacturing operation, SCN relies on the quality of our machinery
to create the best high-quality labels, decals, and nameplates. That’s why we recently
purchased a Durst Tau 330, a highly advanced digital label press that significantly boosts
our production capabilities.
In addition to dramatically
improving SCN’s production
capabilities, the Durst Tau 330 also
allows us to improve the overall
quality of our products, and to
expand the range of customer
service options we offer. The printer
may be new, but it’s already an
integral part of our operation.
Durst, the printer’s manufacturer, is a global leader in digital inkjet printer systems for
industrial use and has been a major industry player since its founding in 1936. In particular,
the Tau 330 is known for its high efficiency and precise production capabilities.
One of the many advantages offered by the Tau 330
is that it has been engineered for “narrow web”
applications, making it capable of handling smaller
print runs than is generally possible. This gives SCN
greater flexibility in fulfilling orders, making it easier
to produce a modest volume of products.
The printer’s small print
run capabilities also make
it easier for SCN to fulfill
last-minute requests for
expanded orders. Rather
than forcing customers to
buy inventory they don’t
want, SCN can now focus
on providing our customers
with the exact number of
products they need.
Another standout feature of the Tau 300 is its inline digital laser finishing capabilities,
which make job changeovers quick and automatic. Rather than having to stop the
equipment between jobs, our team can now seamlessly transition from one job to
another without pause, providing a major boost to productivity.
• Laser die-cutting capability, for reconfiguration during a print run.
• A high print speed of up to 157 fpm, with a production capacity of over 10,000 sq. ft.
• High-definition inkjet printing with high-quality UV inks.
• Lower ink consumption levels without a decrease in print quality.
Since 1970, Southern Coating
and Nameplate Inc. has been
providing high-quality printing
and nameplate creation services
to organizations in the U.S. and
around the world. For more
