• Lists of seven wonders began in ancient times by the Greeks. The Seven Wonders lists varied, resulting in many more than seven wonders. These are Seven Landform Wonders of today’s world.

Angel Falls• Angel Falls is located in

Canaima National Park, Venezuela in a remote jungle. It is the highest waterfall in the world, more than twice the height of the Empire State Building, and three times the height of the Eiffel Tower.

In the heart of southern Asia is located the loftiest Landform chain on earth. Forming a geographical divide that separates the Indian subcontinent from Central Asia, the Himalayas extend from west to east in a massive arc for about 2500 kilometers (1550 miles).

THE ROCK: AYERS ROCK

• Long called Uluru (“sacred place”) by the Aborigines, Ayers Rock is located in central Australia in the Northern Territory. It is the world's largest monolith, rising 862.5 meters (1,143 feet high) and covers an area of 2 square miles.

• There is a popular saying about Guilin, "the Landforms and water of Guilin are the finest under heaven." Guilin is located in southern China and is famous for its dramatic peaks, clear waters, caves, and long history.

Grand Canyon, USA• Measured in Colorado River miles, the Grand

Canyon is 277 miles long and begins at Lees Ferry and ends at the Grand Wash Cliffs. It is 18 miles across at its widest point and consists of more than one million acres of land! At the North Rim (which has only seasonal access) it is 6000 feet (1829 meters) deep.

the east coast of Queensland in Australia. It is the world's largest coral reef . It is over 2000km (1250 miles) long! It is not a single reef at all. It is made up of over 2900 individual reefs very close to each other.

Iguassu Falls, South America• Iguassu Falls is on the border of

Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Iguaçú comes means Great Water. The falls are a mile long and 100 yards high, and consist of 275 separate falls.
