The Course is designed for new users of SDMS Simplex CPD Learning Manager for Schools.

The aim of the Course is to ensure the delegates are aware of the features available within SDMS Simplex and have formed an overview of the Software’s use within their School for the recording of CPD and Staff Development, Evaluations and Performance Appraisals:

Evaluation of the Session:

SDMS Ltd’s quality processes require all Trainers and Consultants to evaluate On Line Training by asking delegates to complete a Standard Evaluation Questionnaire. This is used to find ways to improve our work. After logging in to Simplex, the Menu Tab provides Menus and Quick Access buttons for navigating the system.

The Training Activity Screen records details what the course is about plus the times and dates it is scheduled to run. It also gives access to the delegate list and the cost spreadsheets.

The Cost screen shows the break down of expenditure. For each Cost Category (the rows) and for each Period / Cost Type (the columns). Totals are recalculated by the system as each new cost item is added.

A list of staff enrolled on the course also shows: their group / department, with enrolment code set to progress them through the process of training approval.

When a person makes an application for an external course, details of the activity, the event, the person and their enrolment information can be added all at once from a single screen.

SDMS Simplex allows Schools to manage Staff Performance Reviews and Training Needs by scheduling and recording the meetings, as well as managing observations simply and easily:

Reviews are scheduled by setting Time and Date, then identifying the Reviewee and Reviewer.

Notes can be typed up in the interview details with the duration and venue also being identified.

A bank of questions provides a questionnaire and the set response choices assigned in the Type field. Areas for delegates to comment are added by ticking the Comment checkbox.

Recording responses for each delegate involves picking the option they selected from a dropdown pick list provided for each question.

A staff record has nine tabs. The contact information on the Basic Tab is the minimum needed to hold a record for a staff member.

Supplementing the information about staff; a comprehensive record is held against the department or group to which they belong for both management and monitoring purposes.

The member of staff can be assigned to sub-units of the Organisation such as:

Groups are used to mirror the organisations departments which would be the individuals main group. Details of their Role and Period of Membership of the group are also held.
