Powered by only four AA batteries, the YS-D1 o�ers a maximum light output of Guide Number 32Compared to the YS-110α, the YS-D1 is 1EV more powerful, 50g (1.8oz) lighter and 10% smaller. Not only is the YS-D1 suitable for macro photography, but also is robust enough for wide-angle photography. it is also ideal for macro photography which requires delicate light level control. The strobe’s guide number can be reduced to 1. Highly versatile, the YS-D1 offers more automatic and manual control over lighting to get that perfect exposure.

The YS-D1 is the world’s �rst slave TTL strobe equipped with an exposure compensation (EV) control function.By controlling the actual flash light level, the strobe realizes accurate exposure compensation with EV value. Regardless of a compact or a SLR camera, you can achieve any desired exposure compensation. However, many TTL systems are not reliable. The YS-D1’s DS-TTL exposure compensation function allows users to adjust the light level in TTL mode (-1.5EV, -1EV, -0.7EV, -0.3EV, +-0EV, +0.3EV, +0.7EV, +1EV, +1.5EV).

Two accessory di�usersIn macro photography when a wide beam is not necessary, no diffuser should be

attached. For an even strong circular 100x100 light output is desired, mount the Diffuser 100. When a wide-angle lens is used, the diffuser 120 should be attached. Three beam angles can be selected in accordance with the photographer’s requirements.

The YS-D1 is equipped with a function that automatically switches modes between slave and conventional sync cord or vice versa The YS-D1 will auto-sense when a sync cord is connected, the slave ON/OFF switch will no longer be active. Simple controls and configuration enables easy operation. The light level control ratchets/clicks to aid in setting and operation.

Strobe mount can be selectedWith the conventional YS adaptor, the strobe can be moved only upward and downward. However, with the Ball Mount, the strobe can be moved in a variety of angles.

Equipped with SEA&SEA’s new slave TTL system called “DS-TTL Ⅱ”Revising the algorithms used for the DS-TTL system, the YS-D1 employs a totally new slave TTL system. The strobe can adjust the interval between the pre flash and the primary flash in order to be compatible with a wide-variety of cameras, if not all, on the market today. The strobe is equipped with DS-TTL Ⅱ mode which is more responsive, more precise and more reliable. The DS-TTL Ⅱ enables a variety of strobe sync photography such as slave TTL and slave manual (11 steps) with compact or digital SLR cameras. When used with a digital SLR camera in housing, the strobe can also be connected with a conventional sync cord and through a YS Converter for TTL strobe photography.

Circular beam angle of 100°x100° and guide number of up to 20. The YS-01 is a new compact-type slave strobe that can be used for all applications from wide-angle to macro photography. You can switch between DS-TTL (Digital Slave TTL) and a ten-level manual control function, to enable fine adjustment of the light level according to the photographer's intentions. You can also set up a lighting system that uses two strobes in DS-TTL mode. Power comes from four AA batteries for a powerful and long-lasting strobe. The YS-250PRO is designed for demanding professionals, packed with revolutionary new features to meet the challenges of digital photography. A large circular arc tube emits a powerful flash at guide number 32 (its value on land, ISO 100/m) when power is set to FULL. It provides incremental manual flash power adjustment in 12 steps for graduations of light. The YS-250PRO is lightning fast: it recycles in 1.8 seconds. Its high-capacity Ni-MH battery, designed exclusively for the strobe, stores enough power when fully charged for 200 full flashes. A high-luminosity white LED target light in the center of the strobe shows precisely where the strobe is pointed, and a ready lamp and a TTL confirmation lamp on each side of the strobe indicate when the strobe is charged and when it has been controlled by the camera’s TTL. An audible signal sounds when the lamps light so you can concentrate on your subject in the viewfinder.

Then the 5-pin Sync Cord/N or the 5-pin Dual Sync Cord/N will be useable.*When the RDX-600D is shipped from factory, the housing is sealed with connector cap.

Almost all essential functions of the Nikon D7000 can be operated underwater.

Every detail of the housing is precision machined from a solid aluminum block. The housing is protected by highly corrosion and abrasion resistant anodizing coating.

Features a slanted (sideways) button on the back with an original structure for balancing even more active functionality and styling in high dimension.

Furnished with a tripod socket in the central region of the bottom surface of the main body. If you remove the attached Ergo Grip, you can also add an optional Grip-Stay L Ⅱ.

Equipped with a Optical Viewfinder 0.5x as standard. Other interchangeable 0.66x/0.8x viewfinders (optional) are also available.


A built-in leak sensor immediately alerts you to any water leakage.

Conventional Sync Cord N can be used by removing the connector cap and then fixing the Optional Sync Cord Connector N on the housing. The Strobe Connector N can be easily fixed by consumers. Even when the connector gets wet, the connector can be replaced on the spot.

Though the housing boasts depth rating of 100mm/330ft, buttons on the housing can be effortlessly depressed. As necessary controls for movie shooting can be manipulated with levers, subtle control is possible. The positions of the grips have been revised for better access to various controls.

Optional Sync Cord Connector N is employed.

With both hands on the grips, movie shooting can be activated with a small movement of your f inger tip.

Simply by connecting the Fiber-Optic Cable (L-type) to the connector, the light of the digital camera’s built-in flash is detected and connected to an external strobe. This is considerably less complicated than setting up an electrical connector that requires detailed knowledge. It also eliminates any risks involved when the connector is submerged in water.

Unparalleled design provides easy access to the main dial and the quick control dial. Shutter speed and aperture can be adjusted without removing your hand from the grip. Button for activating live view photography and video is ergonomically positioned for easy access. While holding the grip, you can control AE lock / Index / Reduce lever / AF point selection / Magnify lever and AF start lever to check focus points and then press the start / stop button to record video. The setting button is also situated close to the grip for quick access. Great functionality, engineering, and an ergonomic design make this housing exceptional.

Customizing the housing offers additional functions. You can replace the 6-pin wired TTL converter connector on the top of the housing with a 2-pin wired strobe connector for an additional cost. This modification provides two 2-pin wired strobe connectors so you can connect two SEA&SEA YS-Series strobes.*This modification does not support automatic TTL flash adjustment. *It requires the 5-pin Sync Cord/N.

*The MDX-7D housing comes from the factory with these type-N connectors: one 2-pin wired connector and one 6-pin wired connector. *To use two SEA&SEA YS-Series strobes with the factory-equipped type-N connectors, you must use the 5-pin Dual Sync Cord/N.

System Chart for MDX Housings (for Nikon)

MDX-D800, MDX-D7000, MDX-D300s, MDX-D300, MDX-PRO D700, MDX-PRO D3 SEA&SEA offers a broad range of ports in order to accommodate the various lenses available. Macro (close-up range), Zoom (adjustable range), and Wide-Angle (fixed wide range) lenses require differing ports and accessories. The focus ranges (Macro, Zoom, Wide-Angle) you select will require specific ports to fit on your housing. Certain ports may be compatible with more than one lens. Please note that use of the wrong port or wrong combination of ports for a lens may cause vignetting and/or damage to the lens or port(s).

As shown, the camera lens is not protected since no port is mounted on the housing. The housing will not function properly and be watertight unless an appropriate port(s) is mounted correctly. The specific camera lens will require a port or combination of ports to be selected.

A focus gear allows the photographer to manually focus a lens underwater. A zoom gear allows the photographer to zoom a lens in and out (from wide-angle to zoom) underwater. There are two ways to control the focus or zoom gears. One option enables control with an adjustment knob on the port such as the NX Zoom Port. The other option enables control with the Focus/Zoom dial located on the housing.(Refer to *1 to *5.) Mounting a gear on a lens is easy. Hold the gear parallel to the lens and push in the gear until the designated position as outlined in the instructions provided with the gear. (Mounting instructions may vary depending on lens.)
