Why Exercise?

Regular exercise improves health and wellbeing and helps people avoid some health problems, such as

obesity

The Facts

• In 2008, 16.8% of boys aged 2 to 15, and 15.2% of girls were classed as obese, an increase from 11.1% and 12.2% respectively in 1995.

• In 2008, almost a quarter of adults (24% of men and 25% of women aged 16 or over) in England were classified as obese (BMI 30kg/m2 or over).

The Link You can increase your fitness levels by exercising regularly, which

will in turn enhance your performance. Performance can be affected by your health and fitness. Exercise improves your health, and will also help to improve your fitness. Improved fitness is one way to improve your performance.
