INTRODUCTION
HSS is a pioneering sound-generation technology Developed from American Technology Corporation(ATC) It works by using harmless ultrasonic tones that we can't
hear Sound is directed only where it is intended to go. Sound does not spread to the sides, eliminating the
problem of uncomfortable and unwanted noise pollution produced by conventional speakers.

WHAT ISHYPER SONIC SOUND
Hypersonic sound is based on ultrasonic waves. It is not audible by human hears. It’s like open light bulb & flash light bulb It use the Non-linearity property of air

HISTORY OF HSS
HSS concept is given by -Herman Von helmboltz(1821) 1960-Attempt HSS in Under water sonar 1970-Mathematically proves for HSS in air 1996-First attempt of HSS started(Good quality) 1998-audio spot light by F.Joseph pompei Now using HSS by “Woddy norris”

ULTRASONIC SOUND WAVES
Sound waves which humans can’t hear Frequency above 20khz Used in sonography, detect invisible flaws, and for
cleaning

FREQUENCY RANGES
The human ear is sensitive to frequencies from 20 Hz to 20 kHz
No single loudspeaker element can operate efficiently over this range of frequencies
In HSS two signals are used a) Reference signal (held constant at 200 kHz) b) Variable signal (ranges from 200.020 kHz to 220 kHz) These two combine to produce audible signal
6
WORKING
These ultrasonic frequencies are inaudible by themselves
The interaction of the air and ultrasonic frequencies creates audible sounds
It occur when the air down converts the ultrasonic frequencies to the lower frequency spectrum that humans can hear.
The basic operating principal of HSS uses a property of air known as "non-linearity"
7
NON-LINEARITY OF AIR creates new waves within another wave by the
continuous expansion and contraction of waves As the pressure goes up and down, the "nonlinear"
nature of the air itself causes the sound waves to be changed slightly
If we know how the air affects the sound waves, we can predict exactly what new frequencies will be added into the sufficient volume to cause the air to create these new frequencies
Since we only hear the new sounds that are formed by the non-linear action of the air

NEED OF HSS
Due to the increase in noise pollution Conventional loudspeakers can replace by HSS Saves space for a loudspeaker Increase concentration level immersive 3-D effect without any headphones

WHY IT IS BETTER THAN TRADITIONAL SYSTEM
Shot tightly focused wave Highly directional has long distance Smaller in size No cross over network Simple to handle
16
Fig- 14
ADVANTAGES
Highly focused directional audio Very thin and light weight transducer used as ultrasonic
emitter The sound only can hear within a particular angle Provide HD real audio for virtual reality (virtual real audio
processing is possible) Support multi channel audio
17
DISADVANTAGES
High operating voltage required as compared to normal audio amplifier
Minimum stereo quality sound input required for the proper working
High manufacturing cost

CONCLUSION
As a conclusive remark, this paper discussed About the coming of the Hypersonic Speaker Systems which are yet not implemented, but is a real promising innovation which may be applied in our everyday life and will revolutionize the sound technology.
