Mulching:Mulching is recommended for well-groomed gardens and for people who have the ability to mow at least twice a week during high season.

When mulching, the grass swirls around the cutting deck and is thus being cut several times until par-ticles are so small that they will fall through the blades onto the ground. As grass consists almost 90 % of water, it is recycled back into the soil and not lost. It can be used as a natural green fertilizer. The smaller the particles are, the better groo-med the garden looks and less deb-ris lies on top of the grass.

When mulching, the grass which should be cut should have a length of maximum 1 - 2 cm. Energy con-sumption will raise dramatically with length of grass as the resistance gets higher with extra grass volume.

Bagging / Mulching / DischargeThere are different ways of disposing the clippings: mulching, bagging and discharge. Some of the Cub Cadet lawn mowers offer all three functions simultaneously; other mowers can be converted with appropriate attachments. You can recognize these units by our logos:

2-in-1 means that you have two functions in one mower: mulching and discharge (model CC 46 MB).

3-in-1 means that the mower can as well mulch as rear-discharge and bag the clippings. You have three functions in one mower.

4-in-1 option has the 3-in-1 posibilities plus side-discharge function.

3-in-1 option means that you have the choice between bagging and discharge. Optionally you can buy an additional mulch kit which is available as accessory. With this accessory you have 3 functions in one mower, without the mulch kit you have only two functions.

Bagging:Bagging is recommended for those who don´t have the time to mow very often and want to have a clean loo-king well-groomed garden as well. Besides that, bagging has the ad-vantage to take debris such as lea-ves and dead grass out and make room for light and water. In return, the garden needs a good amount of water for a healthy appearance and the grass needs to be disposed into a composter, a green bag or just an invisible area.

When bagging the clippings, the re-sistance on the cutting blade is less than when mulching because grass is cut once and directly transported into the bag. Therefore, energy con-sumption is in favor of bagging.

Discharge:When discharging the clippings, the grass is usually released through an opening on the side or rear of the cutting deck and spread back onto the garden. This type of lawn care is usually recommended for more na-tural meadows that don´t need cut-ting as frequently as well-groomed gardens and that grow higher.

Usually, these conditions do not persist around the house as the grass debris will end up in the house, pool or walkways.

The resistance on the blade is al-most identical to bagging but back-pressure from a grass catcher is absent, so discharging is the most energy efficient method to mow.

Quick and easy to set upThe intuitive menu system on the LC dis-play makes it easy to enter the mowing program, while the area to be mown can be quickly defined in just a few steps. Simply lay the boundary wire around the area to be mown and secure it in the ground with the included solid plastic pegs. You can exclude obstacles like bu-shes or ponds, while hard objects as i. e. a tree are automatically detected and avoided.

Sensitive rain sensorThe housing of the mower and the bla-des have to be cleaned more often if the grass is mown in the rain. To avoid this, there is a rain sensor which prevents the mower from starting or let it stop mowing and return to the base station when it‘s raining. The sensitivity of the sensor to moisture can be individually set using the menu.

Mow and mulch at the same timeThe Lawnkeeper’s mulching system cuts the grass into tiny particles at up to 4.000 rpm. This also “irrigates” the lawn, because grass consists of 90 % water. No need to compost or dispose of the clippings. Mulching is a natural fertilizer however it cannot provide all nutrients. Please ask your local dealer for special fertilizer for robotic mowers.

Changing the blades is so easyThe blade can be replaced on all Lawn-keeper models with the included blade removal tool within seconds.

Battery maintenance kit to winterizeThe Lawnkeeper comes with a battery maintenance kit. Connected up to this system, it can spend the winter safely in your garage or tool-shed and the trickle charge keeps the battery healthy.

Remote controlThe remote control is a useful accesso-ry if you want to mow the grass without automatic programming, for example in hard to reach corners of the garden, or if you want to manoeuvre the Lawnkeeper from the main mowing zone to an addi-tional separate zone. You can operate both the blades and the steering via re-mote control.

Quiet lawn mowingThe housing encases the entire cutting deck very well to prevent fingers or toes getting trapped. This design, combined with the sound-optimised blades, makes for quiet mowing.

Complete safety conceptSensors and switches ensure that the Lawnkeeper switches off as soon as it is lifted up or tilted. Bump sensors react to fixed obstacles immediately and the mower changes direction.

Random return – avoids leaving tracksTo recharge the battery, the Lawnkeeper has to return to the charging station. It uses the boundary wire as a guide and follows it back to the charging station, but always on a slightly different route. This means that it does not leave tracks in the lawn.

Durable steel bladesAll Lawnkeeper come with stainless steel blades which will last for up to a whole season. With the CC 46 MB, Cub Cadet offers a mulching mower which is perfect for the right lawn care. The grass is cut several times and then equally distributed onto the ground. There it can be used as a natural green fertilizer. You can save high amounts of fertilizers – this is good for the environment and for your moneybag, too.

Another benefit of a mulching mower is that there is no collecting or disposal of the grass clippings needed. You do not have to interrupt your work to empty the grass catcher. Thus, you will save time.

Excellent mulching functionThe deck is especially formed for excellent mulching function. The grass swirls around under the cutting deck and is being cut several times until the clippings are so small that they will fall down to ground. As grass consists almost 90 % of water, mulching will keep the lawn humid, especially in dry periods and once the grass clippings have rotten, they act as a natural fertilizer.

LAWN SIZEWhat is the right deck size for my lawn tractor?Cub Cadet lawn tractor deck sizes range from 76 cm to 127 cm, and the correct deck size greatly depends on the amount of lawn to be mowed. The information below will help you to choose the right deck size for your needs.

TRANSMISSIONThe Transmatic transmission allows shift-on-the-go speed control. Simply choose the driving direction, set the desired basic speed with the speed shift lever on the dashboard and release the brake/clutch pedal. Push the pedal to slow down or press it full way forward to stop. By releasing the brake pedal, the tractor automatically resumes your preset speed.

TRANSMISSIONThe AutoDrive™ transmission is maintenance free. It can be compared with the automatic transmission of a car. The speed can simply be adjusted with the foot pedal. With the gear selector lever you simply choose forward or reverse direction. You don’t have to bother with clutching. Both hands remain on the steering wheel.

TRANSMISSIONThe Hydrostatic transmission impresses by means of modern technology and luxury. Be-cause of its self-lubricating hydro pump, it is of low maintenance and extremely sturdy.The particular feature of the Hydrostatic transmission is that you can control velocity as well as the forward and reverse speed continuously. No clutching or shifting is required. It offers a very smooth and exact drive. All our rear discharge tractors are designed to transport the grass clippings into the grass catcher in the shortest way. All 700 SERIES rear discharge models feature a 210 L or 240 L grass catcher. They are made of durable fabric for flexibility and for air passage to guarantee the air flow and perfect collection. The hard top controls dust and reduces noise. Clean out systemPulling a lever on the right side of the seat, the chute opens in the area of the deck and the clogged grass can fall out. The grass on the rear plate and on the bag full indicator is pushed into the grass bag. This clean out system can be operated while the blades are running. It is also perfect in combination with the deck wash nozzle as the grass will not end up in the bag. The overflow will be closed. The result is a better collection of light debris and autumn leafs.

If you want to save time, it’s time to get an RZT Zero-Turn Rider. Choose from three models that let you mow faster on complex landscapes. For maximum power, check out the RZT 54 which features a powerful Kawasaki OHV twin engine and 137 cm cutting deck. Its wider cutting width and triple blades help you cut grass faster, giving you more time to relax and enjoy your lawn.

THE INNOVATION YOU NEEDTO MAKE THE JOB EASIER.

Driving forward:Slowly and evenly move both drive control levers forward. The mower will start to move forward. As the control levers are pushed further forward, the speed of the mower will increase. To slow the tractor move the control levers rearward to attain the desired speed or move the levers to the neutral po-sition to stop the mower.

Turning to the left:To turn to the left, move the left drive control lever rearward of the right lever.

Turning to the right: To turn to the right, move the right drive control lever rearward of the left lever. The greater the distance bet-ween the two levers, the sharper the mower will turn.

Driving reverse:To drive the mower in reverse, slowly and evenly move both drive control levers rearwards.

Executing a zero-turn:To execute a zero-turn, move one control lever forward while simul-taneously moving the other control lever rearward.

Shredder bladesInternal shredder blades are reducing the volume of leafs and small twigs in a relation of up to 10:1. After vacuuming and shredding the material is automatically transferred into the felt catcher.

Separate chipper chuteTwigs and branches up to a max. diameter of 38mm can get chipped by feeding them into the separate chipper chute. Two rotating hardened steel blades convert branches to fine mulch.

Vacuum hoseAlternatively the included 2 m long vacuum hose with long grip and nozzle can be used to clean areas which are hard to reach. Simply flip the switch on the vac front nozzle to change from nozzle to hose function to clean under bushes or along a wall fast and effective.

Individual height adjustmentThe vacuum nozzle distance to ground can be adjusted in 5 different heights from 16 to 104 mm with an adjustment lever at the front wheels. This enables you to adapt the vacu-um to individual conditions. A higher adjustment can be of advantage on gravel walkways while a lower ad-justment would be preferred on solid grounds.

Blades and springs The CC V 40 B has 17 flail double blades and 16 double springs. This combination allows for two functions in one machine – for aerating and sca-rifying. If you would like to aerate the soil of your garden, use the higher position with a gentle touch of the blades and springs on the surface of the soil. If there is the need to scarify, use a deeper position of the blades and springs which allows having a more aggressive action on the surface.
