CCD Classes meet on the second and third Sundays of each month, September to May at 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM. Grades K-4 meet on the second Sunday; Grades 5-12 meet on the Third Sunday of each month.

October CAP Sessions Announced The Office of Safe Environment for Children, Youth and

Adults is announcing CAP (Child Assault Prevention) sessions. CAP is the safe environment training program for adults who have regular contact with minors. Attendance is required in order to comply with the USCCB’s Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. The policy of the diocese is that adults will attend CAP once every five years.

CAP 1 teaches attendees to recognize child abuse and neglect and how to report to the proper authorities. Adults are taught that children have the right to be safe, strong and free. CAP 1 is for new volunteers and employees

CAP 2 is No More Bullies, No More Victims and is a workshop on bullying awareness and bullying prevention. Cyberbullying is also addressed. Both sessions are 90 minutes.

Adults must attend CAP 1 before attending CAP 2. After five years, adults have the option of attending CAP 1 again if they prefer or CAP 2.

SCHEDULE CHANGES

• The Saint Michael Mass, scheduled for Tuesday morning, September 29, is transferred to an Anticipated Mass on Monday night, September 28 at 7:30 PM.

• There will be no Public Mass on Tuesday, September 29 and Wednesday, September 30. (The September 30 Intention has been transferred to November 10, 2009)

• On October 2, the First Friday of the month, there will be no Lauds and no Exposition at 8:00 AM in the morning.

• Exposition will occur on October 2 after the 7:30 PM Opening Mass of Forty Hours and last until the Closing Procession after the 11:00 AM Mass on Sunday, October 4.

Nursing Home Mass

On the Second Friday of each month at 11:00 AM, volunteers pray the Rosary and attend Mass said by Fr. Pasley at the Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center at Virtua in Berlin. The next Nursing Home Mass will be October 9.

Novena to St. Michael the Archangel

September 21 to September 29

Our nine day Novena to Saint Michael the Archangel began on September 21 and continues after each daily Mass. The last Novena prayer will be at the Anticipated Mass of the Feast of St. Michael on Monday, September 28, at 7:30 PM. If you are unable to attend daily Mass, you can join us spiritually by praying the Novena at home. Novena Booklets are available in the Narthex and online at our
