AIRSERVICES AUSTRALIADesign Manager: since Apr 2014: contractAirservices provides air traffic control, telecommunications, navigation, surveillance and aviation and rescue and fire fighting services for Australian aviation.

I manage all engineering on new and existing infrastructure projects and have completed two major airport control tower upgrades and two new fire stations.

Led two studies into the regulatory requirement and necessity for new aerodrome fire stations, which then progressed into design and construction contracts.

Developed and implemented systems engineering initiatives to define procedures and policies to ensure rigorous design and construction quality assurance.

Led multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver infrastructure projects including personnel and technical management and resolution of technical issues.

Project-managed civil and geotechnical work including waste recycling dewatering dam, rock groynes and boardwalks.

Manager, Engineering, Projects Group: Feb 2011 – Feb 2013BMA is a jointly-owned subsidiary of BHP and Mitsubishi that owns and operates seven coal mines and one coal handling port in Queensland.

I led the Engineering team within BMA’s Capital Projects Group with oversight of all engineering on projects ranging from $5 to $500 million and leadership of a team of 15 principal engineers. I reported directly to the executive leadership team and senior management.

Developed and implemented policies to increase the effectiveness of Projects Group such as best practice project and design management processes. This included creating a project governance manual and engineering processes to promote consistent, fit-for-purpose engineering and project management.

Oversaw quality and validation of all medium projects including:- $47m Moranbah Airport upgrade.- $28m Saraji Mine CHPP upgrade.- $40m Peak Downs fire system upgrade.- $30m Goonyella Riverside rapid release dam.

Consolidated BMA’s asset engineering through stakeholder alignment and process commonalities. Sought and consolidated stakeholder relationships – both internally to maximise efficiencies and provide cohesive business objectives and externally to ensure value and acceptance.

Led organisational change to effect policy and procedural changes and governance initiatives.

AUSENCO LTDEngineering Manager: Jan 2008 – Feb 2011Ausenco is a multinational engineering, procurement, construction management, and operations service provider to the energy and resources sectors.I led the engineering team on several major projects and studies up to $110 million. This included all aspects of leadership, management and administration of teams of up to 60 engineers and support personnel.

Planned, obtained, formed, led and managed teams to bid, procure, execute and construct major projects. This included task allocation, scheduling, resource management and acquisition and performance management of all personnel.

Met design and construction objectives whilst controlling budget and schedule. Investigated and implemented innovative solutions to engineering problems. Delivered several major projects across Queensland and internationally.
