Tokyo-AMS 400G Data Transfer Experiment Plan

An experiment with MMCFTP over 3x100G network was demonstrated between Japan and US at SC17@Denver, and 230Gbps data transfer rate was made.

Next trial will be over 4x100G network between Tokyo and Amsterdam.

•Target routes: 1xTokyo-Amsterdam, 1xTokyo-Singapore-London-Amsterdam, 2xTokyo-US-Amsterdam

•Target speed: 80 Gbps x 4 = 320 Gbps

•Target period: As soon as four 100G lines become available

NII plans to introduce mobile capability into SINET in order to support IoT research and mobile-oriented applications toward 5G era.

Mobile virtual network created for SINET over mobile network is directly combined with SINET through gateways, which creates secure L2VPNs for research groups.

In addition to commercial clouds and universities’ computers, analytic platforms provided by cooperative vendors are also connected to SINET. Comprehensively providing data collection / analysis infrastructure supports research activities.
