by SJV Offshores Nig. Ltd SJV OFFSHORES NIG. LTD for LNG LTD

The primary objective set for SJV OFFSHORES NIG.LTD in cleaning an existing pipeline for conversion are-

(a) Removal of residual crude or and other from the pipeline. (b) Removal of loose or adhering debris which might cause operational problems in pipelines. (c) Ultimately, clean the pipeline such that the hydrotest water would meet EPA standards for

discharge (i.e. less than or equal to 100ppm suspended particles and 20ppm oil and grease). (d) Provide a contingency plan to comply with parameters in I in event that criteria were not

originally satisfied. In other to accomplish our objective on site, a sample is usually removed and sent to Adrain

Engineering Constancy Ltd. Lab in UK. A complete analysis would provide the basis for any optimum

job design. From the sample, the amount for debris in the pipeline could be estimated, also the most

effective solvent for removal of the residual content, (e.g. crude oil) could be determined.

SJV OFFSHORES NIG. LTD Supplements its skill and experience by establishing strategic, associations

with a selected number of local and international companies, institutions, universities and individuals.in

partnership with Adrian engineering consultancy Ltd. UK has many successful operations for both

operational and pre- operational pipelines.

Feasibility Studies The purpose of the feasibility assessment is to determine whether existing hardware is suitable for use in a particular pipeline, undertake the assessment from the information supplied to determine if the requirements are feasible. If the requirements are not feasible, document the reasons why and discuss with the client and log the assessment as being complete. Should the project be feasible proceed to determine hardware build requirements. If the job can be completed using standard hardware, proceed to document the hardware build requirements making a clear reference to the contract on which it is to be used. Operational restrictions must also be specified. Provide the client with details of the hardware requirements and log the assessment as being complete. Risk Assessments Under the Management of Health and Safety at work Regulations 1999 (MHSWR) all employers have a statutory duty to carry out and record risk assessments and to notify their employees and others of the hazards and their associated risks. The assessments must identify risks to both employees and to any other person who be affected. As well as the requirement for risk assessments under these regulations a duty also exists within various other regulations for specific risk assessments. In some cases the duty required exceeds the requirements of the MHSWR and other fall short.

Page 13: SJV OFFSHORES NIG. LTD

SJV OFFSHORES NIG. LIMITED PROFILE

Regulation 3 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 MHSWR requires that a formalized risk assessment be carried out determine the risks associated with working operations. The assessment will need to identify risks both to employees and other person who may be affected. The purpose of the assessment is to enable the employer to determine remedial actions necessary to comply with the relevant legislation. This phrase covers the general duties (ss.2-9) in the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 (HASAW Act) and more specific duties in the various Acts and Regulations associated with the HASAW Act. Regulation 3 (3) of MHSWR requires that risk assessments are kept up to date, which means any significant change which affects risk e.g. a new employee, machine or work practice) should lead to a re-assessment of risk. Site Survey’s A site survey may be required at the tendering or firm price proposal stage of any contract. To determine the suitability of the existing pipe work set up, open the launch and receive traps for assessment purposes, allow photographs to be taken and ensure if any special clothing, special clothing, special driving permit, use of cameras etc. Brief the client on working practice, logistics, contingency plan etc., applicable to the in-field phase of the contract. Advices the client on launch/receive trap value operation and launch/receive logistics. Determine the procedures required by the clients for the operation. Method Statements Provide a step-by-step statement on where, when and how the operation is to be performed, quoting all procedures, risk assessment and “permits to work” associated with the operational work. Pipe Work Design Advice on Testing and Maintenance of pipelines, including calculation for pipeline hydrostatic pressure

testing, purging, line packing, cathodic protection and pipeline corrosion. Provide specifications for line

pipe, welded branch reinforcement calculations, hot tap sizing. Full specifications and drawings would be

provided.

Intelligent Pig Design and Development Undertake the design and development of magnetic or ultrasonic inspection tools as specified by the client for a particular application. Provide specifications, limitations and time scales to the client. Pig tracking/locating Provide a pig tracking service, including the on site operation and equipment supply for the monitoring and location of all types of pigs. Advice on the methods of removing a “stuck pig” from a service pipeline. Pipeline cleaning Provide a pipeline cleaning and rehabilitation service, give advice on the most cost- effective methods of cleaning the pipelines.

ADRIAN ENG.CONSULTANCY WORKSITE FOR CONOCO PHILIPS UK MAINTENANCE OF OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION FACILITIES These involve general maintenance, repairs, servicing, overhauling, assembling, testing and installation of oil and gas production facilities. These facilities includes;

▪ Flow stations ▪ Well heads ▪ Valves ▪ Separators ▪ Pumps ▪ Compressors ▪ Boiler plants ▪ Heat exchangers ▪ Pipeline facilities ▪ Drilling rigs

SJV OFFSHORES NIG.LTD PIGGING CAPABILITIES Pipeline Pigging Operations.

b. When a pipeline operator contemplates Pigging a line, he must take several factors into consideration.

i. The purpose of pigging. ii. The operating condition of the pipeline. iii. The design of the system. iv. The risks involved. v. The type of pigs available.

Page 15: SJV OFFSHORES NIG. LTD

SJV OFFSHORES NIG. LIMITED PROFILE

If the operator is faced with conditions such as the removal of large deposit of paraffin or scale, low pressure and flow multidimensional lines, reducing valves or perhaps a “lose my job if I get a pig stuck situation, then the selection of pigs become an important decision. This includes intelligent and non-intelligent pigs. Intelligent pigs include pipeline diameter measurement/geometry, pipeline corrosion detection, crack detection and leak detection. Non intelligent pigs include swabbing, batching, and cleaning of pipes. SJV OFFSHORES NIG. LTD MAINTENANCE CREW Pigging operation either for a virgin pipeline or in conversion of an existing pipeline to another. Thorough cleaning is expected of a virgin pipeline ready for use to remove various debris.

i. When pre-commissioning a natural gas pipeline, a more thorough cleaning of the pipeline’s internal surface is necessary to provide trouble free gas transmission.

ii. When the pipeline was originally in crude oil service, planned for conversion to natural gas, the cleaning becomes even more critical to the pipeline success.

Pipeline generally contains various debris e.g. Millscale, dirt, rust, construction debris, old product etc. this is applicable to either a newly constructed pipe or converted from existing pipelines. This debris can result in an array of problems, such as frequent filter changes, reduced flow capacity, higher operating expense, instrumentation fouling just to mention just few.
