Overview
This chapter includes following topics
Introduction
Applications
Supporting Equipments
Introduction The efficiency and profitability of a mobile communication network depends on the quality and capacity of that network. Due to the change of the radio propagation environment and frequent expansion and upgrade, UMTS network optimization becomes one of the core tasks to which carriers attach much importance. Network optimization personnel are in urgent need of a set of tools for testing, analyzing and diagnosing the networks, to locate and predict network quality and capacity, based on which network optimization plans can be further made. During this process, the network optimization test software is the most important factor.
In the UMTS network optimization field, few manufacturers can produce network optimization equipment delivering complete UMTS network planning, building and optimization capabilities. There are few UMTS network optimization test software products available in the market. In addition, even those few available cannot accommodate the needs in the global and domestic market in terms of prices (including upgrade cost), functionality flexibilities, and after-sales services.
Under such a background, ZTE Corporation successfully developed the CNT (UMTS Edition) software to address the strong demands in the market.

Sim Navigator
It simulates GPS. When your computer is not connected with any GPS device or when Indoor Navigator is not forcedly selected, the system will automatically use the internal simulated GPS, which will generate random GPS positioning information.
Indoor Navigator
This option should be selected for indoor test.
COM
It identifies the number of the port to which the hardware is connected.
COM1 and COM2 is always USB port of the laptop itself
If several equipments connected to the laptop that time it will show in different ports of like in COM3, COM4, and COM5 as show in Figure 13.

Route Map
The route test points will be dynamically colored according to your setting. Different colors are used to identify the values of different orders. The red circuit on the map indicates the current location. If base station information is loaded, the base station distribution diagram can be shown in the map and the line connection function can be used. As shown in the above diagram, the blue line represents the active set, and the green line represents the monitor set. At the replay status, when you double click a test point, the replay location will automatically move to the point you just clicked. Route Map diagram can be seen as shown in Figure 55
