James Berry, Skyline’s general manager, was also honored with the Triple Diamond Sales Manager award, which he has won for the third con- secutive year. The awards were by Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA). “The current eco- nomic climate makes it a chal- lenging time to be an auto dealer, but Skyline Mitsubishi hasn’t compromised customer service one iota,” said John Koenig, MMNA’s executive vice president of operations. “We work very hard to earn this award each year,” said Berry, who has been with Skyline since 2003. “We don’t have the ad budgets of the Ford, Chevy and Toyota dealers, and we take the extra steps necessary to maintain successful customer service.” Top sellers in the Mitsubishi lineup at Skyline are the Lancer compact sedan and the Outlander SUV crossover. “They’re built on the same platforms,” said Berry, “and are par- ticularly well-suited to Colorado.” Skyline, at 2040 W. 104th Ave., was established in 1994. Suzuki gas card sales-spur attempt Buy a new Suzuki automobile, get three months of free gasoline. The sales promotion is an attempt to spur sales of the Japanese-based product of small cars. A Suzuki sales slump the past two years has been so severe that some observers have predicted that the company would abandon the U.S. sales market. “With our new midsize sedan, Kizashi, and the fuel-efficient SX4, that won’t happen,” said Koichi Suzuki, executive vice president, American Suzuki Automotive Operations. The Kizashi sport sedan, intro- duced five months ago, offers all- wheel drive. A well-equipped model is priced around $25,000. Customers who purchase a 2010 Suzuki model through Aug. 31, will receive a prepaid gas card to cover three month’s worth of gas.
