-ISM is a suffix that you will often see

It is a suffix that forms abstract nouns of action, state, condition, or doctrine.

EnthusiasmThe noun enthusiasm comes from the Greek word enthousiasmos, from enthous, meaning “possessed by a god, inspired.”

Use it to describe great excitement or interest, like what you feel when you’re doing something that you really, really enjoy.

Example from everyday life

The word enthusiasm indicates intense excitement.

You can tell ms. tucker is intensely excited about this book sale!

“I would show enthusiasm if I found out that all the books at Barnes and
