This candle making kit comes with a large amount of Soy Wax, centering devices, and wicks. Below is a brief explanation of what’s included to help you get started.

S o y W a x

Soy wax is a renewable and sustainable resource. On top of being natural and eco-friendly, it’s great for making beautiful candles that have a clean, slow burn. Our soy wax allows you to make beautifully stunning candles, with a light and creamy texture, and combine it with a

rich and potent scent throw.

Aluminum centering devices help keep your wicks evenly in the center of your candle during pouring and cooling. The notches help keep your wicks taut and in

place, hassle-free.

Our 6-inch wicks are pre-waxed and 100% cotton. The metal tab on the bottom makes it easy to adhere to the bottom of your container with an adhesive like glue or

double-sided tape.

1. We recommend melting your wax in a double boiler or melting pot specifically for wax. First, heat the wax to its melting point of 130°F. Once the wax is melted,

gently stir it. Pro Tip: During this step, you can also preheat the

container your wax will be poured into to around 125 °F. This will prevent peel away and give your candles a

nicer, more consistent look!

2. If you’d like to add vibrant colors to your candles we recommend our Hearts & Craft Wax Dye Chips. If using

our dye chips, raise your wax temperature to 180°F and add a small quantity at a time while stirring. If you

see specks of color on the bottom, you may need to turn up the heat slightly until the dye and the wax has

completely blended.Pro Tip: The color may appear less saturated while the wax is melted. Once it solidifies, the color will be more

vibrant!

3. If you would like to add scents to your candle, the recommended fragrance load for our soy wax is 6-8%.

With a maximum of 10%. Once the oils have fully mixed in, you can raise the heat to 167°F.

4. As the wax is heating, place either double-sided tape or glue under the metal tab of the wicks and center it in the middle of the container, making sure that it has

securely adhered to the container.

5. Once the wax reaches a temperature of 167°F you can carefully pour it into your container.

Pro Tip: Be careful about keeping the wax too hot or on the heat source for too long once you add essential

oils. This can cause some of the oil to evaporate and weaken the scent.

6. Pull the wick taut and centered through the wick centering devices in order to keep the wick straight

and centered as the wax solidifies.

7. For the best results, we recommend you allow your candles to cool at room temperature overnight.

8. Once the wax has solidified, trim the wicks to 1/4th of an inch. This will ensure that your candle burns evenly

and consistently.

Is this wax scented?

No. The wax is naturally unscented, but you can add scents to it by adding fragrance oils.

How do you get the wicks to stick to the bottom of a container?You can add glue or double-sided tape to the bottom of the wick in order for it to properly stick to the container.

Why isn’t my wick burning evenly?

We recommend that you trim your wick to ¼ inch before each lighting for a smooth burning.
