SARATOGA SPRINGS – The Saratoga Arts Celebration at the National Mu-seum of Dance, a premier Arts Festival, will be held on Saturday & Sunday, August 20 & 21, from 10am-5pm, on the great lawn of the National Museum of Dance at 99 South Broadway in Saratoga Springs. The Festival is a jur-ied event featuring more than 100 artists selected locally and from across the country and Canada. Additional festivities include live music and dance performances, educational family activities, and a variety of food choices. Admission to this event is free of charge and includes free admission to the National Museum of Dance. The Festival will be held rain or shine, indoors & outdoors, with plenty of free parking. Peace Week in Saratoga SpringsSARATOGA SPRINGS – In recognition of the highly successful commu-nity Peace Fair held in Saratoga Springs the last two years, Mayor Scott Johnson has declared September 19-25, 2011 to be Peace Week in Saratoga Springs. The proclamation, signed June 27, declares that “the City of Sara-toga Springs seeks to be a peaceful and just community that is inclusive of all people and rejects violence as a way to resolve differences.” Through the proclamation, the Mayor also encourages other organizations to sponsor peace-related events during that week “to spread the message of peace and justice in our community”, in addition to the Peace Fair itself, which will be held at the Presbyterian-New England Congregational Church on Sunday, September 25. The Peace Fair Steering Committee will coordinate and pub-lish a listing of all businesses and organizations scheduling a peace-related event that week. Nature Walks GANSEVOORT – Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park will be holding three Saturday, hour-long nature walks to explore dif-ferent aspects of the Park. Proceeds will benefi t Brachial Plexus Network, Inc. The term Brachial Plexus Injury (BPI) refers to an injury to the complex set of nerves that control the muscles of the fi ngers, hand, arm, and shoulder. The Brachial Plexus can be damaged in a number of different ways including accidents involving high impact conditions but most brachial plexus injuries are sustained during birth from excessive force being applied to the baby’s neck and head resulting in stretch-ing and/or tearing of the Brachial Plexus nerves.
