    @ABSTRACT@

    The various kinds of space debris or space junk that are revolvingaround our earth in an orbit possess a threat to the satellitecommunications. It travels at about 10 kilometers per second (22,370mph).Infact, these particles whether tiny or big are on their way todestroy the whole system of satellites and space stations orbitingaround our globe in the near future. This deadly debris must beeliminated in order to have a complete access to our earth orbitingsatellites.

    The following paper gives an idea of capturing the space debris andalso eliminating them.

    Here in this concept a net like feature is used to capture themoving debris. It resembles the capturing of fish in the lake. Thefollowing conditions are to be adhered for efficient functioningof the space debris capturing equipment.

    CONDITIONS:

    1.0 Relative Velocity between the Debris and the Debris collectorequipment should be as minimum as possible.

    2.0 The size of the debris to be captured is restricted by the size ofthe net manager/debris collector/rotator.

    3.0 Debris size should be greater than 10 cm.

    4.0 Amount of Debris (> 10 cm) captured is limited the capacity of netmanager/debris collector/rotator.

    5.0 A maximum number of dead satellite can be descended dependsupon the quantity of net & thruster pulling capacity.

    @COMPONENT DESCRIPTION@

    S.no Component Used for

    1.0 Thruster Shifting the orbital position of the debriscollector with respect to the debris.

    2.0 Solar Panels To power the thruster and motor.

    3.0 Motor 1.0 To Rotate the net manager/rotator withrespect to the debris.2.0 To align the Solar panel with respect tothe suns rays.

    4.0 RADAR Used to identify the location, speed &position of debris.

    5.0 NetManager/rotator/debriscollector

    1.0 Used to deploy nets from the cylindricalrotator.

    2.0 Nets are deployed with the help ofcentrifugal force developed by therotation of net manager.

    3.0 Net manager is rotated with the help ofmotor coupled.

    6.0 Nets

    These are deployable nets which can be

    targeted towards the debris from netmanager. They can be deployed andreturned back to initial position with thehelp of the elastic strings which woundover the net manager. The net frame canbe made electromagnetic/natural magnetin order to attract the small debris like nuts,bolts (ferrous) etc

    @WORKING@

    Step 1: Rotating Radar Detects the Debris.

    Step 2: Thruster alignment (with respect to target / move away from the target- incase of working satellites)

    Step 3:Go for Debris - Motor powers the net manager/rotator

    Step 4: Net Manager has nets inside which directs the net towards the debriswith the help of centrifugal force. As the net moves towards the debris it enlarges.

    Step 5: Net (*can be magnetic) captures the debris like a fish moving in the lake.Debris Counter velocity can be compensated by the rotator (rotating opposite tothe angular velocity of the debris).

    10/11

    Step 6: As the net manager rotates in opposite direction (w.r.t direction ofprojection) the net shrinks along with the debris and moves into the netmanager/rotator.

    Step 7: Inside the net manager/ rotator the net enlarges again leaving the debrisand ready for the next target.

    11/11

    Step 8: When the debris collector is full, where no more debris can be collectedthe net can be targeted for the dead satellites. Once dead satellite is captured itcannot be stored inside the debris collector, so the descend of the DebrisCapturing equipment to the earth atmosphere/to ISS should take place with thehelp of thruster.
