Ellis Parry

Ellis Parry started his career as a solicitor in private practice, before joining

AstraZeneca pharmaceuticals in 2001 as a specialist IT lawyer. Ellis became

AstraZeneca's Global Privacy Officer in 2005. He left AZ to join BP as its

Global Lead for Data Privacy in December 2010. At BP, Ellis is responsible for

devising and implementing BP's global approach to personal information

handling, including the maintenance of BP's Binding Corporate Rules. Ellis has

an MBA, is a frequent public speaker, has a number of published articles to

his name and was the founding Chair of DataGuidance's Pharma Expert Panel

and continues to sit on their UK Expert Panel.

Florence Raynal

Florence has a master degree in private law from Paris Assas Pantheon

Sorbonne University and post graduate diploma in IT law. She assisted the

President Alex Türk in his Presidency of the WP29 until 2010, dealing with the

EU Commission and the management of the WP29’s plenary and external

representation. She has also been assisting the CNIL’s Commissioner in

charge of international affairs in participating in all the work developed at the

WP29.

Making BCR (Binding Corporate Rules) successful was one of the challenges

given to her. She then has developed European referential adopted by the

WP29, promoted them to the business (e.g. “BCR Club”), instructed BCR

cases and coordinated the work of the European Data Protection Authorities

at the WP29 level on that subject.

Will Wormell

William Wormell started working in the EU and International Data Protection

Policy team at the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) in September 2011, where he is

working on the new EU data protection proposals as well as the

modernisation of the Council of Europe’s Convention 108. He is a European

Fast Streamer and therefore is set to work on a variety of EU-facing roles in

MoJ and elsewhere in Whitehall before looking to become a civil servant at

the European Commission. Before joining the civil service, he studied various

economics and European political science topics at the London School of

Economics, from which he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Government.
