KIALLA CENTRAL PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER Page 3

Parent/Teacher Interviews are taking place

on Thursday 27th June from 3.45pm to

6.45pm and again on Friday 28th June from

9.00am to 12.45pm. There is no school on Friday

298h June, however, all students are expected to

attend their interview. This is an important time to

discuss your child’s progress and celebrate his/her

achievements. A confirmation letter of your time

will be sent home in your eldest child’s report.

Mr Zito is on leave on Thursday 20th, Friday 21st,

Thursday 27th and Friday 28th June. As a result,

he will be holding his Parent/Teacher interviews on

Tuesday 25th June from 3.45pm to 6.45pm and

Wednesday 26th June 9.00am to 12.45pm.

Parent/teacher appointment time forms were sent

home last week and it is a “first in best dressed”

arrangement. Forms are due back on Wednesday

19th June. If your form is not returned a time will

be allocated to you.

Semester 1 Academic Reports will be sent

home this Friday 21st June. This is a time

for you to celebrate your child/ren’s learning success

and discuss areas they need to work on next

semester. Reports are a shared document between

school, students and parents/carers. It is important

students have an appropriate understanding of their

report and are part of their Parent/Teacher

interview.

I have a meeting with Teeth on Wheels on

this coming Thursday. If you have any

feedback regarding their administration and/or

visit please let me know or send an email if you

can’t get into school. I have a couple of things to

discuss with them to improve this service.

Good luck to Tayah for Wednesday as she

participates in the Regional Cross Country

Championships at Winton.

On Thursday 27th June I will be hosting

my annual free Sausage Sizzle to celebrate our

Semester 1 achievements. A form will be sent home

this week so that students can order how many

sausages they would like to eat. If your child does

not eat sausages then they bring their lunch as

usual. Please note: there will be no hot lunches.

A School Holidays Activity brochure from the City of

Greater Shepparton has been sent home today to all

of our families.

CLASSROOM WRAP F /1 Moulsdale

In Foundation our word of the week is ‘vet’. I am encouraging students to bring in a stuffed toy pet on Thursday for vet week ~ only if they already have one at home.

Grade 1s are looking at ‘ir’ as in shirt.

IN Maths we are sequencing numbers and investigating number lines. I have asked students to investigate house numbers, where we can see them (letterboxes, gutters, on houses) and the order (odd, even).

1/2 Baker

We are working on the trigraph ‘igh’ making the ‘I’ as in light.

In maths we are continuing 2D and 3D shapes. We are also revising

previous concepts.

We are creating a flip book of the world around us as part of our Integrated Studies.

3/4 Posteraro

Our spelling focus is ‘se’ making the ‘s’ sound as in horse.

We are continuing to write Information Reports on different topics.

In maths we are further investigating multiplication strategies.

5/6 Zito

This week we are working on the Four Processes and Decimals.

We are continuing on with our Information Reports for writing.

Design Technology ~ Miss H & Mrs O

It is full steam ahead in the Design technology Games Factory. After some careful planning and re-visiting the students are starting to make their games. It certainly hasn’t been as easy as some initially thought. This has caused many students to have to think outside the square and challenge themselves.

They are certainly all looking forward to potentially showcasing these to families at a Games Spectacular Family night in Term 3.

K.C.P.S. Footy Tipping Competition 2019

Talking Footy with Bomber 10

Round 13 Wrap

The second week of the bye rounds started on Thursday night when the Crows took on

the Tigers at Adelaide Oval. The Tigers got off to a good start and were leading the

Crows at the end of both the first and second quarters. After half time the Crows were

able lead the way and came out the winners by 33 points. Eddie Betts again kicked one

of his now famous goals from the boundary line.

On Friday night the Bombers and the Hawks did battle at Marvel Stadium where the

Bombers were able to hang on against the Hawks with a 19 point win which helps them

to keep in touch with the eight. The Bombers now have a win – loss ledger of 6 – 6.

On Saturday afternoon the Suns took on the Saints in the warmer climate at Riverway

Stadium Townsville Queensland. The Suns led for the first 3 quarters but in the final

quarter the Saints were able to claw their way back into the game and finally came out

the winners by 4 points.

The Dockers and the Power played their Saturday game at Optus Stadium where the

Dockers had a 21 points win over the Power. The difference between the two teams was

the 6 goals kicked by the Dockers player Michael Walters.

On Saturday night the Blues nearly pulled off their 3rd win of the season when they

played the Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium. Charlie Curnow for the Blues kicked 7 goals but

it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs were able to win by the narrow margin of 3 points.

On Sunday afternoon the Kangaroos and the Giants played at Blundstone Arena in Ho-

bart Tasmania where the Giants took well over a half of football booting 7 goals on the

trot from midway through the 3 quarter to break away from the Kangaroos. The Giants

ran out the winners by 23 points.

Footy Tipping Stars of the Week – for Round 13 were – FAUM, Jack of All Trades, Matt

& Cassie S., Simone & Daniel M and Tradie Sam who all tipped 6 and there were 17

tippers who tipped 5 correct. Well done to all these tippers.

Footy Tipping Ladder Leaders – at the completion of Round 13 are: - Narkle on 76, Pie

Time and Tradie Sam on 74, on 73 are Digger’s Rooboys and Fairy Princess and on 72

are Curtis Laidlaw, The Bolt and Tom Will Do.

Watch out for Tradie Sam as he is now only 2 away from the lead as he tries to go for

another win in our Footy Tipping Competition.

Just a reminder that during the Bye rounds you must tip all games correct in two

consecutive rounds. E.g.: Round 12 & 13 or 13 & 14.

We have tippers in the running for the Jackpot next week if they tip all 6 games next

week. Those in the running are our Footy Tipping Stars of the Week.

The Jackpot stands at $100:00

Please remember to circle all games on your tipping sheet. Over the last couple of weeks

I have had a few tippers not tipping all games. If you miss a tip you will be given the

away team.

Bomber 10 is off to the warmer weather up north and while she is away Magic Magpie

will be taking over the reigns.

Good tipping everyone and go Bombers!
