About the College The college was started in the year 1993 with just three Under Graduate (UG) programmes, namely, B.E. Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), B.E. Electrical & Electronics (EEE) and B.E. Mechanical Engineering (MECH). The very first batches of ECE and MECH produced University Gold Medals. Since then, the college has made several strides in achieving excellence in promoting the technical education to the society in the rural areas of Tamil Nadu. Today the college has seven UG programmes and four Post Graduate (PG) programmes in engineering and technology.

About the Trust Board Thiru G. Ramakrishnan, I.A.S (Retired) was a former State Information Commissioner of Tamil Nadu (2006-2010). Prof. Dr. R. B. Kumar is a former Director, School of Management, Anna University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Dr. A. Purushothaman is a former head of the department of Marine Biology, Annamalai University, Parangipettai, Tamil Nadu. Smt. KasturiParthasarathy is the wife of the founder Trustee, Late. Shri.Parthasarathy and has been associated with the Trust since its inception. Shri. M. D. Balaji, the Secretary &Trustee is the illustrious son of the founder Chairman, Late Shri. M. E. Devarajan, a popular industrialist in Chennai.

The 18th Graduation Day was celebrated on 13, February 2015 at the college campus. Thiru. G. Ramakrishnan, I.A.S (Retd.)Trustee, Sriram Educational Trust (SRET), presided over the function and Dr. G. Nalankilli, Principal, Sriram Engineering College, welcomed the gathering.

Dr. P. MannarJawahar, Ph.D., Former Vice-chancellor, Anna University, Chennai, was the Chief Guest, who delivered the Graduation Day address and distributed the Degree Certificates and presented the Medals to the Rank holders. Special Awards were given to the following students for their academic excellence in attaining University ranks.

ROTARACT Club Activities Our students participated in ROTRACT CLUB-SPARK CONFERENCE which was conducted from 20.02.2015 to

great enthusiasm. Automobile Department students participated in the ROTRACT CLUB-POLIO AWARENESS CAR RALLY from 29.04.2015 to 04.04.2015 at SOUTHERN TAMILNADU TOURISM.

Women empowerment Cell (WEC)

Women empowerment Cell in SREC encourage girl students through which they can bring out their hidden talents. It empowers the women to take their own decisions for their personal dependent. Empowering women is to make them independent in all aspects from mind, thought, rights, decisions, etc by leaving all the social and family limitations. It is to bring equality in the society on par with men.

It aims to create awareness among women about their legal rights in the perspective of women's issues and problems. It also provides a platform for women to share their experiences and views regarding their rights and duties, status in the society, and to suggest ways to improve and empower themselves. Aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female students, the WEC stands for facilitating the women Engineers by conducting guest lectures, seminars and other welfare activities. It also conducts awareness, raising campaigns for the development of women in the society.

Counselor Ms. J. M. Shalini is available round the clock to provide guidance to the students to overcome their mental stress or agony over any personal issues in them. She also provides guidance to the Faculty members on the counseling aspects i.e., on how to counsel a student whose personal issues affect his or her academic performance.

Every department takes immense efforts to take the students to the industries in order to provide them an opportunity to understand the practical aspects of the theoretical knowledge, they acquire in the classrooms. ASHOK, second year Automobile Engineering student was awarded Rs. 7500 with trophy for best achievement award.

T. ARUNACHALLAM, second year chemical Engineering student was awarded Rs.5000 with trophy for best sportsman.

Our college student cricket team secured third place in R.M.K Trophy held at RMK Engineering College on 10thFeb. 2015.

TIES-2015 held at Sairam Engineering College from 14.02.2015 to 28.02.2015 with the participation of 203 colleges. Our students made our college flag fly high by winning the following prizes.
