Oracle Self-Service Human Resources (HR) allows your workforce
to update and use employee-specific information, online via a
browser, that is personalized to an individual's role, experience,
work content, language, and information needs. By allowing
managers and employees to access and manage information and
transactions in a paperless environment, you can streamline business
processes, decrease costs, and improve service. With managers and
employees empowered to update and maintain their own
information, HR professionals can now move from being transaction
processors to being consultative partners.
Use Talent Profile to provide a Single place for Employee Information
and Personnel actions
Managers and workers are presented with a talent profile page wherein they can
view worker details like Employment Details, Contact Details, Competencies,
Appraisals, Job History, Previous Employment, Certifications, Trainings Attended
and Career Path on a single page. Workers have access to their own data only,
whereas managers have access to their workers’ information. Managers and
workers can also perform real-time updates to information and directly launch
manager\employee self-service actions from the talent profile homepage.
Managers can arrive at informed decisions and coordinated actions using the
comprehensive information available in the talent profile. The self-service actions
performed by managers on employees can be initiated from the common employee
profile page thus making the process simplified without having to navigate back and
forth across functions. Managers can also print the employee talent profile.

Empower Line Managers with Talent Profile and Personnel Actions
Many of the employee oriented HR transactions are driven by the Line Management
decisions. Enterprises can empower line managers with this Oracle Self-service HR
system. Managers can now perform many day-to-day operational deployment
processes, such as hire employees and applicants, transfer or promote employees,
change grade step and grade point, change pay rates, process terminations, rehire ex-
employees and locate suitably skilled people for new job openings. The Suitability
Matching feature enables managers to find suitable candidates for a work
opportunity. The Suitability Matching module compares and matches a workers’
competencies against competencies required by a job, position or vacancy.
Oracle Self-Service HR uses Oracle Workflow throughout its design to streamline
inter-user approvals and participation in review processes. You can configure any
process using Oracle Workflow that requires routing to other users for review,
approval and finalization.
Integration with Oracle Approvals Management, a rules based approvals engine
facilitates robust management of pre-authorized approval chains for the self-service
business processes.
Engage Employees using Employee Self Service
An enterprise is more effective when its people are motivated to update information
that is relevant to their career and work, resulting in improved data accuracy. This is
also important to enable HR organizations to improve workforce service delivery
and improve satisfaction. Oracle Self-Service HR enables workers to manage their
own information. Using self-service pages, employees can choose benefits options,
view pay slips, enroll in learning, enter timesheets, track performance objectives,
perform self-assessments, indicate work preferences, enter competencies, view leave
accrual balances, request leave and apply for jobs.
They can update their personal information such as emergency contacts and
beneficiaries, and maintain information for accurate benefits eligibility or taxation,
as well as view their Total Compensation Statements. Employees can also enter
their private vehicle information, and see company vehicles assigned to them, as
well as share employment and salary information with verifiers, for loans and
various other needs. They can also view and update their Talent Profile, including
adding search tags or adding qualifications and accomplishments.

the accuracy of transactional data.

Oracle Self-Service HR enables HR Professionals to view and manage workforce
activities with ease. Oracle Self-Service HR enables you to free your HR

Professionals from data maintenance activities and allows them to focus on HR
programs, consultation and strategic initiatives. Oracle Self-service HR can also be
configured to provide access to employee information relevant for HR Professionals
and also perform relevant personnel actions. HR Professionals can also administer
grade step progression, release people information to interested parties and perform
suitability matching.
Configurable to Support your Global Organization
Enterprises can improve efficiency by configuring applications to address the
organization’s needs. Oracle Self-Service HR is a highly extensible and configurable
application enabling you to configure content, labels, links, and logos, to match your
corporate identity. You can include corporate knowledge repositories, HR policies,
or external links such as benefits providers. You can configure HR business
processes for different user groups (for example, hide or show different regions of
the application, or fields of a transaction). You can omit process steps in an HR
transaction that may not be relevant for your business, or choose to display your
own configured fields to capture information that is unique to your organization.
Special Information Types and Extra Information Types in Oracle Self-Service HR
provide the flexibility to set up unlimited amounts of extra information on people,
assignment, location, job, position and organization. Special Information Types can
be used to store additional information about jobs, positions, skills and people that
are otherwise not captured by the system. The information can be captured as a
standalone process, integrated with self-service action flow or personal information
flow.

A global enterprise must be sure that all human resource transactions comply with
the requirements of each local area. Oracle Self-Service HR ensures that local
legislative information is incorporated into personnel transactions such as transfers
or terminations. Also, Oracle Self-Service HR supports local formats such as
address, bank information, dates, and numbers.

A common approach to security and global information reduces the cost of
maintaining secure access by automating security changes as an employee joins the
business, or moves around the organization. Oracle Self-Service HR shares data
input and security features with Oracle HRMS. When a user enters information, it is

to ensure it is always accurate and consistent.
