D303 Parent University Presents Worries of the World Wide Web
While technology creates convenience in our lives and helps keep us in touch with our kids, as parents, we know danger can lurk in the files contained on cell phones and computers.
What kids may view as an innocent photo can morph very quickly into life-altering evidence. Join us for District 303 Parent University- Worries of the World Wide Web on Thursday, March 10 at 7 p.m. in the Learning Resource Center in Thompson Middle School, 705 W. Main Street in St. Charles. The presenters for this session are Kane County Judges Susan Clancy Boles and Clint Hull. Judge Boles is currently the Chief Judge for Kane County. Judge Hull is an Associate Judge assigned to the Juvenile Division. Both are also District 303 graduates and members of the District 303 Distinguished Alumni. This presentation by Judges Boles and Hull is the same presentation given to District 303 middle school students and focuses on the potential consequences of having possession of inappropriate photos, texts, or other materials and what to do if they are sent to a student by a third party. To Whom It May Concern:
St. Charles North High School would like to cordially invite you to speak with our freshmen, sophomore and
senior students regarding future career and educational choices. We hope that you will be available on
Tuesday, March 15, 2016, from 7:00 – 11:45 a.m. for our Career Fair and Professional Panel Presentations.
You will have the opportunity to share information about your career, background, and education in order to
help guide students in their post-secondary endeavors. Students are very interested in hearing about “The Day
in the Life of” different careers.
The general format for the day includes 6 - 35 minute sessions. Students will attend Professional Panel
Presentations, visit the Career Fair Booths, meet with their guidance counselor, learn about job shadowing and
internship opportunities, and take a personality test to see how their personality fits with different careers. The
sessions begin at 7:50 am and conclude at 11:45 am. We hope you will stay for lunch so that we may show
our gratitude for your time.
The Professional Panel Presentations, will be a made up of 2 professionals in a specific career field. There
will be approximately 25 students in each section who are interested in this particular career field. During this
time, you will have about 10 minutes to share what you do day-to-day, what career path you took, what type
of education/training is needed, and what you enjoy about your career. After all individuals have shared, the
students will have an opportunity to ask questions of the panel speakers.
For the Career Fair booths, we need individuals interested in hosting a table specific to your career. You may
want to bring information or brochures about the career, what you specifically do on a day-to-day basis,
educational requirements, skills, and any other pertinent information. Be prepared to answer questions. This
is a more informal setting and not a set presentation.
We truly feel that your real world experiences will help motivate students to continue exploring the vast
opportunities they will have available upon completion of their education at St. Charles North High School. If
you are interested in presenting at the Career Fair, please register at https://goo.gl/MlnlDe. When you
register, you will have an opportunity to share if you are interested in being a panel speaker or hosting a career
booth. A Career Day committee member will contact you to let you know that we received your information
and will provide additional information at that time.

The SCN Boys Varsity Volleyball Team will host volleyball clinic to
help improve skills and strategies: Saturday, March 12th and/or
March 19th. Come have fun and improve your game with us!
What: Boys Volleyball Clinic
When: March 12th, 9:30am to 12pm and/or March 19th, 9:30am to 12pm Varsity Scrimmage for 15 minutes after each session until noon.
Where: St. Charles North High School Main Gym
Host: Boys Varsity Coach Todd Weimer and the Varsity Volleyball Team
Cost: $30.00 or $50 for both dates/sessions
Please wear comfortable athletic gear, gym shoes, and bring a water bottle. Enter SCN through the
Athletic Entrance. You will receive at-shirt for participating in this clinic which will be given to you
along with free admittance to the April 9th St. Charles North vs. St. Charles East volleyball match
(4:30pm JV / 5:30pm Varsity). T-shirts will be given at the game on April 5th.
