SVDP SEEKING NEW MEMBERS After all Masses this weekend, members of

the St. Vincent DePaul Society will give a short

presentation inviting parishioners to join their

ministry. Members of the Society will be available

to answer questions in the Helen Room after the 5

p.m. and 10:30 a.m. Masses, and in the small sacristy

behind the altar after the 8 a.m. Mass. If you are in-

terested in learning more about St. Vincent DePaul

but are unable to stay after Mass, please contact Tom

INFANT JESUS SHOWER

SIGN-UPS Believe it or not it is time to start to start sign-

ing up Infant Jesus Shower! The Infant Jesus Shower

is the parish’s Christmas giving program which pro-

vides new toys and clothing to local families in

need. Sign-ups start after all masses this weekend

and will continue through November. If helping a

child in need is already part of your Christmas tradi-

tion, please stop by the music room to sign up again

this year. If you have not taken part in this wonderful

St. Helen tradition and would like more information

stop by the music room after mass, call Amy Comer

10,000 LETTERS FOR DREAMERS! Next weekend, our parish is being asked to take part in the “10,000 Letters for Dreamers” campaign.

“In September, 2017, Pope Francis launched a two-year campaign of solidarity with migrants called “Share

the Journey.” In response, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is joining with all the Roman Catholic dioceses of Ohio

to urge Congress to pass the DREAM Act or similar legislation protecting young immigrants. Approximately

800,000 youth have received protection through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program

since its inception by Executive Order in 2012. While DACA provided no legal status, it did provide recipients

with a temporary reprieve from deportation and employment authorization for legal work opportunities in the U.S.

In September 2017, the Trump Administration announced that it would terminate DACA in March 2018.

After then, DACA youth will be at risk of deportation from the U.S.—the only country many have ever really

known. We believe it is Congress’ job to legislate before this deadline a permanent fix for DACA youth,

who were brought to the United States through no choice of their own and who continue to ave no viable

path to regularize their status.”

Sen. Sherrod Brown, Sen. Rob Portman, and Rep. Mike Turner. Please plan to take a moment to sign in

support of this vital legislation! Postcards will be available in the Helen Room and the vestibule!

CARROLL HIGH SCHOOL’S

ACTION APPALACHIA Action Appalachia is an annual service program, formed by Carroll

High School’s seniors, to provide aid for the Campton Center in Ken-

tucky. This year’s seniors are collecting clothing for infants, children,

and women, as well as for mens and teens; gently used toys as well as

brand new toys for Christmas gifts. These donations are vital to the

community of Campton, which has no relief organizations such as

Salvation Army or Goodwill to meet its needs. There is also great

need for canned soups and canned meats-such as soups, cereal, tuna,

peanut butter, and Vienna sausage.

Please bring your donations to the Carroll High School

loading dock (located on the west side of the building). Questions contact Mrs. Cathy Jackson or send an email to

cjackson@carrollhs.org. The deadline for all donations is Friday, November 10th. Thank you for your support

for this most needy project!

Bring Hitchcock Stories to

the Stage

Students portray Joe Landry’s adaptation of Alfred

Hitchcock's classic suspense stories.

Carroll High School Freedom Players will perform

“Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play” on No-

vember 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Produced by special ar-

rangement with Playscripts, Inc, and written by

Joe Landry, this is an evening with splendid adaptations of three early films directed by Al-

fred Hitchcock: "The Lodger," "Sabotage" and "The 39 Steps." Go behind the scenes in a

1940’s style radio broadcasting studio and see Hitchcock’s characters come to life on stage.

This production is created by over 60 Carroll students in roles on-stage and behind the

scenes.

On Sunday, November 5th, patrons can enjoy a luncheon before the show. A 1940’s

themed lunch will include soup and sandwich buffet, “Victory Garden” vegetables, jello

fruit salad, and homemade apple crisp. Reserved seating is required for lunch.

The Carroll Freedom Players are directed by Mrs. Toni Weitz. Set Directors are Mr. An-

drew Becker and Mr. Josh Weitz. Mrs. Abby Merkle is Director of Costumes and Mrs.

Cassandra Shea is Director of Makeup.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.carrollhs.org, at the school office, or at the

door. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for students and senior citizens. Children 5

and under are free. Luncheon Tickets (which includes admission to the play) are $15 for

adults and $13 for students and senior citizens. A table of 8 guests will cost
