From the Desk of Deacon Jim Lawlor
In light of the recent news we must pray for our priest, Fr.Anthony Giuliano. As an Ordained Deacon I can only speakor proclaim the living Word of God, “Sacred Scripture” whenaddressing an issue to God’s people. In the Liturgy of the Hours in Morning Prayer after receivingthe letter from the Archdiocese, I read in Psalm 73 and Iquote! “I strove to fathom this too hard for my mind tounderstand, until I pierced the mysteries of God.” In MatthewI read: “Judge not, for as you judge, so you will be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measuredout to you.” God does not judge as man judges, by word ofmouth or gossip. God reads what is in man’s heart as God didwith Mary Magdalene, of whom Jesus drove out sevendemons, the seven deadly sins, and yet chose her to be thefirst to see Jesus after his “Resurrection.” Jesus also warns usthat we are all sinners. First in “Sacred Scripture” when hesays: “Why do you call me good? No one is good but He whosent Me.” And later in scripture our Lord said: “If you think youare without sin you deceive yourself.” Let us pray for each other and for all of our priests.
“May God Bless you All”.
