EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD
My Dearest Brothers and Sisters in the Risen Lord,
I want to wish all of you a Blessed, Happy Easter! I wish
to thank ever so much any and all folks who had anything to do
with the events of Holy Week and the Easter Triduum starting
with last weekend and continuing through this weekend; I most
certainly appreciate everyone’s help to make this most solemn
time of the Church’s year so sacred and festive as we recalled the
Passion, Death, Burial, and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ
in the Liturgies and all of the logistics and decorations that went
into them.
Looking ahead, you are most welcome to participate in
the Divine Mercy Sunday celebration that we will have next
Sunday, April 23rd, from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M.
Normally, we have the All-Day Exposition of the Most
Blessed Sacrament on the third Sunday of the month of April but
because April 16th is Easter Sunday, we will have the All-Day
Adoration next Sunday, April 23rd and that fits nicely into the
aforementioned Divine Mercy Sunday Holy Hour being held on
that day from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. During that Holy Hour, both
the Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Holy Rosary will be prayed
publically. I want to thank, in advance, any and all folks involved
with that Holy Hour for making it as reverent as I am sure that it
will be.
Please note that because school was scheduled to be
closed on Monday, April 17th, there will be NO religious
education classes that evening. However, our Religious Education
Program will resume on Monday, April 24th, at the regular time of
6:05 until 7:35 P.M. On that Monday evening, there will be an
important Parent Meeting for the parents of the current 6th grade
class concerning the F.A.F.Y. (Faith Alive for Youth) Program
that the children are scheduled to be part of as the Sacrament of
Confirmation preparation for seventh and eighth graders.
YOU ARE MOST WELCOME TO THE NEXT
PARISH COUNCIL MEETING THIS MONDAY EVENING,
APRIL 17th, AT 6:30 P.M. IN THE CHURCH HALL.
May the 50-Day Easter Season be blessed and spiritually
rewarding for you as we continue the practice of praying at Holy
Mass every Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation; please remember
that they are little Easter Sundays.
Sincerely, with prayers,
Father Bill Woodruff

MIDDLE AGE– Is when work is a lot less fun — and fun a lot
more work!
JOKE– A wife had suffered for a week from a really
nasty virus and it left her feeling completely wiped out.
On the first day that she could crawl out of bed, she
discovered a ‘silver lining.’ Pulling on a pair of jeans, she called
out to her husband, “These jeans fit! They finally fit!” “That’s
great”, the husband replied, “but they’re mine.”

“Please Pray For All Bishops, Priests, Deacons & Religious!”
"Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified.
He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and
see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples,
'He has been raised from the dead, and he is going before you to
Galilee; there you will see him.' Behold, I have told you."

PARISHIONERS’ COMMENT– I think tithing is a good idea
because it teaches people to make sacrifices to God. We live in
a selfish world where everyone comes first. It is about time God
should come first.
PASTOR’S COMMENT– Thank you to all who consistently
support the work of the church.

MAKING ALL THINGS NEW
God our Father, through the Gospel and the Eucharist,
You bring us together as Your Church in the
Archdiocese of New York.
Send us Your Holy Spirit, to enlighten our minds and guide our
actions as we plan for the future of parish life in this
Archdiocese.
Help us learn new ways to strengthen and revitalize our parish
communities, and to be good stewards of the spiritual and
material gifts that sustain them.
Bless our work, so that our parishes may continue to witness to
the truth of the Gospel, and be a sign of Your love for all people.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

CLEAN-UP TIME
Submitted by Rachel Garrett
Have you ever used hydrogen
peroxide to clean an open wound? I have, and I
always thought it was cool that you could see it
working by the foaming action. You see, what the hydrogen
peroxide does is to draw out the impurities that might otherwise
infect your open wound. It could be a paper cut or a scraped
knee, but it still serves the same function: to draw the impurities
and clean up the wound so that any further damage or infection
can be spared.
In the same way, when we accept God into our lives a
change or drawing out and away from impurities must take
place. God knows what’s best for us, and we should accept His
help (Jesus Christ who saves us by taking our sins away and
taking them on himself). His help includes drawing out our
impurities or sin that causes destruction and damage in our lives.
Romans chapter 6, verse 23 says, For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
How long are you going to wait to put hydrogen
peroxide on your wounds? Will you wait until the infection of
sin has become advanced, like an infected open wound, or will
you accept the help and gift of Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior,
and let Him take care of your impurities?
Stop sin from infecting and standing in the way of your
relationship with God and a better life today. Ask Jesus to come
be your hydrogen peroxide, and He will help clean up the sin in
your life to prevent further damage and infection to your soul.
