ing the past
two years

the people of the parish and the community in memory
of Rosa Alba Stranieri from Rosa’s family. This Satur-
day the 22nd immediately after the 5:00 p.m. Mass we
will gather at the Creche to bless and dedicate it, to
pray for Rosa’s eternal rest, and to sing Silent Night as
a parish fami-
ly. All are
invited to at-
tend and par-

MARCH FOR LIFE 2019 WASHINGTON D.C.
The March for Life began as a
small demonstration in 1973 and
rapidly grew to be the largest pro-
life event in the world. The
peaceful demonstration that has
followed on this somber anniver-
sary is a witness to the truth con-
cerning the greatest human rights
violation of our time: abortion.
Join us and half a million pro-
lifers as we head once again
to Washington, D.C. on Friday, January 18, 2019 for the
46th annual March For Life and walk from the Washington
Monument up Constitution Av to the Supreme
Court. Always peaceful and uplifting, The March For Life
offers you the opportunity to stop in at your federal legisla-
tors' offices and let them know how you feel (and how you
pray that they will vote!). Defunding the abortion industry,
defunding embryonic stem cell research, voting against
"right to die" and "death with dignity" euthanasia legisla-
tion are all critical parts of this day of peaceful and prayer-
ful witness and demonstration.

Please be kind and gentle to yourself.
Christmas is joy, religious joy, an inner joy of light and peace.
Pope Francis
May you know the beauty of the season,
Merry Christmas.
Have a peaceful & a wonderful New Year
During this wonderful season there is al-ways the opportunity for
the blues to arrive. Try and find the middle ground. Change
it up. Make new traditions. Do something different, something new.
Go to mass.
Christmas is the perfect time to celebrate the love of
God and family and to create memories that will last forever. Jesus is God's perfect, indescribable gift.
The amazing thing is that not only are we able to receive this gift, but we are able to share it with oth-
ers on Christmas and every other day of the year.

Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, that shall be to all the people.
Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going? Irrepressible questions each of us have asked ourselves and some-
times even agonize over. Next we ask, where are the answers? Can they be known? Admittedly these are not the usu-
al thoughts for Christmas, but surprisingly Christmas is where answers are to be found.
Obedience is probably not the first thought we have on Christmas morning, but there it is on display in the manger.
Obeying....Doing His Father’s will, Jesus is the key, the center and the purpose of the whole of man's history. Our
origin, purpose and destiny, all that we are and all that we are supposed to be, the entire seemingly unsolvable equa-
tion of man is revealed in God's only Son who died for our sake. (JPII)
God became man, revealing His irretrievable love for us. So much so that when we turned away, He humbled him-
self and came to reconcile us to Him, reminding us that we were made in His likeness and image. God reached down
to lift us up because we were made for God and for no less worthy reason.
This is the purpose of Christmas. To confirm that we are brothers and sisters to Jesus Christ, who is God, and there-
fore each and every one of us is endowed with incomparable dignity and made for a spectacular purpose - to share in
the divine life of the Trinity. It matters not what others think, or for that matter what I think. You and I are children
of God. This fact makes all the difference to our existence.
It is much overlooked, but everywhere the Christmas message has been lived, and has dramatically changed the
lives of people in practical and immense ways. Since the time of Christ the world is a much improved place for you,
me and countless others. The respect and dignity for the human person, having human rights, establishing just gov-
ernment, and care for our neighbors all spring from the reality of the Incarnation. This must never be forgotten, lest
we lose the truth of who we are and return to the world Jesus was born in. A world dominated by power, in which
human life has little value in the equation, and where misery, strife and hopelessness are the norm for most people.
Rejoice! We have something to be merry about. We know who we are. For unto us a child is born, to us a son is
given…And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. He has come
to save us. Merry Christmas.
