Anointing of the Sick Service The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick

will be held TODAY Sunday, October 9, at 2PM in the Church.

The Living Rosary

Join us for the Living Rosary THIS Monday, October 10th at 7pm in the Church. The Unity group invites you to Honor Mary and experience the rich diversity of St. Nicholas Parish. What better way to honor our Blessed Mother than with prayer.

Light refreshments will follow the service.

Who may receive the Sacrament? Those suffering from chronic or acute illnesses. Those preparing for hospitalization or surgery. Those preparing for a medical procedure or treatment. Those experiencing mental or emotional stress with physical symptoms. Those living with recurring illnesses or disabilities. Those living with a terminal illness or in hospice care. Those of mature age or in frail health.

Why should you receive the Sacrament? The Anointing of the Sick conveys several graces and imparts gifts of strengthening in the Holy Spirit against anxiety, discouragement, and temptation, and conveys

peace and fortitude. These graces flow from the atoning death of Jesus Christ, for “this was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, “He took our infirmities

and bore our diseases.” (Matt. 8:17)

St. Nicholas Council 10590

Knights of Columbus—Membership Drive The Knights of Columbus will be outside the Church exits next Sunday, October 16th, taking applications for membership to the St. Nicholas Council.

Our Catholic faith teaches us to “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Members of the Knights of Columbus show love for their neighbors by conducting food drives, volunteering at Special Olympics, supporting, both spiritually and materially, mothers who choose life for their babies, and much more. Knights recognize that our mission, and our faith in God, compels us to action. There is no better way to experience love and compassion than by helping those in need, a call we answer every day.

Our Monthly Day of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

begins this Wednesday, October 12, at the 9AM Mass and continues until just prior to the

9AM Mass on Thursday, October 13. We invite and encourage you to spend some time with Our Lord in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

The Lord of the Miracles Holy Mass and Procession in honor of

the Patron Saint of Peru will be on Saturday, October 15 at 11AM

at Christ Cathedral, 13280 Chapman Ave., Garden Grove.

This year the Presider for this annual event will be Bishop Kevin Vann.

Join us and support us in prayer!

“Abortion and racism are both symptoms of a fundamental human error. The error is in thinking that when someone stands in the way of our wants, we can justify getting that person out of our lives. Abortion and racism stem from the same poisonous root, selfishness.”

—Alveda King Niece of Martin Luther King, Jr.
