Some of the items dis-cussed were: * the progress of the various parish projects - the new secu-rity doors in the school are gradually being installed, the inter-net system is being upgraded in both the school and the parish offices, the upgrade in the atrium is just waiting for the light-ing to be installed *the religious education program is on-line once again, 480 families are enrolled, family involvement is a positive aspect of this, the Mass Museum walk through was a great success, the Sunday Mass and viewing the series "Chosen" has started once again and is involving both parents and children *attention will be given to the parking lot garden areas which have become overgrown *continuing the monthly Spanish Mass as a bi-lingual ser-vice as many who attend are school-age English speaking chil-dren *CYO has informed parishes that there will not be any ac-tivity until January *we have not yet heard any further Covid directives from the Archdiocese *the Archdiocese has informed us that they want us to have

an "increased giving campaign" in the Fall of 2022

Why Knots Blanket Ministry At St. Stephens Church

Thursday, November 4th at 6pm

Please rejoin us in our ministry of making blankets to be donat-ed to local hospitals and other places in need. This ministry is open to all ages. All you need to know how to do is to cut and tie knots. This is a Ministry to Mary. We will be creating fleece blankets by cutting and tying knots. The knots repre-sents the knots in our lives and we will ask Mary to pray for us and help us to untie those knots.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring: 2 coordinating pieces of fleece (baby: 1 yard of each color, child: 1.5 yards of each color, adult: 2 yards of each color) Ruler and yard stick, Sharp Scissors, or a monetary donation ($15 to $20) to help supply materials.

The group will meet on Thursday November 4th at St. Ste-phens Church in the cafeteria from 6 to 7:30.

To sign up you can email or text Shauna Smith at [email protected] or cell 845-641-5745.

Fall Tag Sale Thank You!

We couldn't have done it without you!

St. Stephen Fall Tag Sale for 2021 is now in the books. We began collecting donations in early August and started our sale with a Back-to-School theme, and continued with collections (four) and sale weekends (six) through Columbus Day.

None of this would have been possible without the support of our parishioners and community members who donated so many wonderful items for resale and reuse, our fabulous Knights of Columbus membership who showed up on every drop off day to help unload and move donations and our A+ volunteers who sorted, tagged, displayed the goods prior to our sales and then gave up countless weekend hours to work the sales. In all, our Tag Sale raised more than $33,000.

These funds are important to our parish to assist with capital improvement upgrades. Recent projects include new stage cur-tains, which meet current fire codes, upgraded phone and inter-net services so that the former school will be fully functional for all uses, handicap accessible door handles and new door locks in the former school building, and sanding and sealing the gym floor, which is part of yearly maintenance.

So What's Next? The Christmas Market!

We are looking forward to our Christmas Market, which will run December 4/5 and December 11. The Christmas Market will feature new and gently used Christmas decor, new non Christmas items for re-gifting, a Tricky Tray, Gertrude Hawk Chocolates, home baked goods and more.

When are We Collecting Donations? Our Christmas Market donation drop off dates are scheduled for Tuesday November 2 and November 16 from 4pm - 6pm at the back entrance of the former school building.

What is being Accepted? For the Christmas Market we are accepting:

- New and gently used Christmas decor, including artificial trees, nativities, Christmas villages, lights, decorations and

decor, Christmas linens - Christmas ONLY DVDs, books, CDs, LPs

- NEW non Christmas items that can be used for re-gifting - Donations for our Tricky Tray - we are looking for donations of gift certificates to local restaurants or retailers, specialty gift

baskets, wine, beer or liquor - For the Christmas Market we are NOT accepting furniture or regular Tag Sale donations. We are planning on a Spring Tag

sale when we can accept these type of items.

In Loving Memory - Memorial Candles

All Souls Day is November 2. Our par ish is pleased to offer “In Loving Memory Memorial Candles” for purchase during the month of October. These candles give parishioners the oppor-tunity to commemorate departed loved ones with a symbolic remembrance. The candles are glass bottle style, 8 1/4” tall, long lasting and will be personalized for you with the name of your loved one. They also make thoughtful gifts for a grieving family member or friend.

The cost is $10 for the first candle purchase and $8 for each additional candle. Payments will be accepted at the parish office via cash, check or Venmo or via credit card on our website. Request envelopes are located at the entrances of the church and in the parish office. Personalization should be limited to one or two names. Envelopes should be returned to the parish office, clearly marked “Loving Memory Candle Or-der”. Please include your name and phone number.

Candles will be available for pick up in the parish office the week of October 25. For more information contact the parish office.
