Features & Benefits

— Standing Seam Roofs —

The Skylight Screens for Standing Seam Metal Roofs are similar to regular corrugated fiberglass skylights – they are at the same level as the roof and have the same profile. They can be easily overlooked when a person is working or walking on the roof. Skylight Safety Screens are easy to install and allow for a proactive rather than reactive solution to a safety hazard.

• Complies with OSHA regulations 29 CFR 1910.23 and 1926.501. • For use with standing seam / trapezoidal standing seam fiberglass skylights. • Eliminates potential for personnel to fall through skylight. • Easily installed without use of special tools. • Does not compromise the energy-saving benefits of skylights. • Screen constructed of 3″ x 4″ welded wire mesh. • Minimum transverse diameter of 0.195”. • Screen hot dipped galvanized after welding. • PVC bumper extrusion installed around the perimeter of the screen. • Overall size of screen 3′-9″ x 11′-4″. • 20 gauge, 11′-4″ galvanized steel channel with 6 pre-punched holes provided. • The steel channel has tabs to receive the Skylight Safety screen.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS — STANDING SEAM ROOFS —

Do not place body weight on corrugated fiberglass at any time during installation. Standing seam fiberglass will not support body weight. Wear gloves when handling screen.

1) With the opening in the notches in the Standing Seam Skylight Screen rail facing upward (toward the ridge), attach the flange of the Skylight Screen rail to the outside of the standing seam (opposite the skylight) with the furnished stainless steel hex washer head self-drilling screws.

— Corrugated Deck Metal Roofs —

The Skylight Screens for Corrugated Metal Roofs prevent falls through corrugated fiberglass skylights. They are easy to install and prove to be cost effective when compared to the potential time and money expended as the result of a fall-related accident. Often times, these skylight screens are difficult to detect by people on the roof because they are at the same level and have the same profile as the corrugated metal roof panels.

• Complies with OSHA regulations 29 CFR 1910.23 and 1926.501. • For use with standing seam / trapezoidal standing seam fiberglass skylights. • Two 3’ x 3’ sealant adhesive pads and six special tek screws are furnished with each

channel.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS — CORRUGATED DECK METAL ROOFS —

Do not place body weight on skylight during installation. Use extreme caution when installing the Corrugated Skylight Screens and always wear gloves when handling skylight screens.

1) The Corrugated Skylight Screen channel is to be mounted on the highest corrugation nearest to the center of the skylight.

2) On the high end, the fiberglass skylight should be under the corrugated metal. Clean and install the 3′ x 3′ adhesive/sealant pads on the corrugated metal approximately 1” from the edge. Be sure to remove the release liner from the adhesive/sealant pads.

3) Position the Skylight Screen channel so that the three mounting holes in the channel are positioned over the 3’ x 3’ adhesive pads.

4) Fasten the high end of the Skylight Screen channel to the corrugated metal using the self-drilling screws.

5) Proceed to lower end of the Skylight Screen channel. Clean area under the three holes in the channel and install the 3’ x 3’ adhesive/sealant pads. Fasten the lower end of the Skylight Screen channel to the corrugated metal.

6) Center the Skylight Screen over skylight and insert the Skylight Screen under the tabs. Bend tabs over the Corrugated Skylight Screen.
