FROM THE TOP20 years of the ‘Stanford Distinction’

Jess Rider

Welcome to the first quarterly magazine from

Stanford Coachworks, where we are proud to be celebrating our 20th anniversary this year. We have witnessed many changes in this industry over the last two decades and we are honoured to have had the opportunity to positively impact a number of individuals and businesses during this time; something we look forward to doing a lot more of in 2015 and beyond.

From applying our expertise to convert factory standard vehicles into highly valued wheelchair accessible vehicles, to creating bespoke, luxury mini coaches, over the last 20 years we have had the privilege of seeing our work make a real difference. Over the next few pages, you can see some of our latest work first-hand, including insight into our strong working relationship with the London Borough of Redbridge, and a look at some of the vehicles we have recently converted, including a Land Rover Defender Adventurer, which is a true one-off.

Since the company was founded, our ethos has been to deliver the very best conversions to the highest safety standards and in the most efficient manner for all of our clients. It’s something we

call the ‘Stanford Distinction’. In keeping with this philosophy, we only work with the biggest and best manufacturers in the industry, including the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Ford, and our close relationship with these big-name brands reflects our dedication to excellence.

Since 1995, we have delivered over 6,000 complete conversions of minibuses and coaches, all with unrivalled professionalism and commitment, and we will continue to serve the industry, exceed even the highest expectations and make every effort to ensure we stay ahead of the inevitable market changes in the years to come.

2015 promises to be another busy year for the Stanford

Coachworks team and after the success of the Vehicle Expo at Brands Hatch last year, we look forward to again showcasing our latest range of conversions, hosting professional training sessions and even offering hot laps around the famous racetrack!

All of this is alongside our fundraising efforts for The Lord’s Taverners, an amazing charity whose mission is to enhance the prospects of disadvantaged and disabled children through sport.

I hope you enjoy this issue and please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to find out more about what Stanford Coachworks can do for you.

All types of minibus conversions for all types of clientsStanford Coachworks has been providing top quality minibus conversions for 20 years.

During this time, the company has set a precedent and developed an unrivalled reputation

for custom-built minibuses and conversions. By combining traditional skills with the latest developments in bus technology and ensuring we always meet the very highest safety standards, here at Stanford Coachworks we can say with confidence that what we offer cannot be matched elsewhere.

At Stanford Coachworks, we can build vehicles to meet the most exacting of transport needs, calling upon our extensive knowledge that has been accrued and fine-tuned over the last two decades.

Minibus conversion is a detailed and complex process, starting with the initial planning stage right through to the design, build and delivery. Every aspect of this process undergoes strict quality control and testing, followed by a thorough inspection. The end result is always the highest quality, bespoke minibus boasting state-of-the-art craftsmanship, delivered at an affordable price. This is what makes Essex-based Stanford Coachworks stand out from the crowd.

We offer a wide range of minibuses in all wheelbases from the major motor manufacturers, including Renault, Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot, Volkswagen, Fiat and Citroen.

Our standard minibuses include a range of options to choose from, including satellite navigation, hot and cold drinks machines, entertainment systems, LED lighting, auxiliary heating, saloon air conditioning, CCTV and cycle warning system. These features, along with top quality upholstery, flooring and roofing interiors, and a high degree of comfort, result in a vehicle that will more than meet your expectations and objectives.

THE PERFECT PARTNERSHIPThe relationship between Stanford Coachworks and the London Borough of Redbridge is now more than 15 years old and it is set to grow even stronger in 2015.

Stanford Coachworks has been proudly supplying vehicles to

the London Borough of Redbridge for the past 15 years. In the words of Eddie Cross, Engineering Manager at the London Borough of Redbridge: “High build quality, specialist knowledge and on-time delivery are all key factors in our relationship.”

Stanford’s involvement with this London Borough is far reaching. The company has supplied well over 100 vehicles to Redbridge, ranging from Medium wheel base (MWB) to long wheel base (LWB) flat floor systems for community transport operations. The vehicle of choice is a white liveried Mercedes Sprinter, and every one of them meets the latest emissions legislation and is M2 type approved.

Stanford conversions transform the base vehicle into a bespoke wheelchair accessible passenger transport minibus with an additional secure tracking system, capable of holding anything from three to five wheelchairs after standard seating has been removed. Fully lined ceilings, walls and flooring cavities are insulated using fire retardant materials, along with medical level wipe-clean fixings.

Rear access wheelchair lifts and safety side steps are fitted with

lights and sensors to provide support for passengers requiring extra assistance. Climate control, additional audio-visual and lighting, and storage units are fitted as standard to offer that extra level of comfort.

“Safety is paramount for our vehicles, especially where vulnerable passengers are concerned,” says Jess Rider, Co-director at Stanford Coachworks.

Alongside the wheelchair accessibility modifications, all vehicles for the London Borough of Redbridge have reinforced uprated suspension, using genuine Mercedes OEM parts and are supplied with full vehicle warranty. All vehicles are also finished with a full valet and craft inspection and are delivered with IVA type approval certification and ISO approved standards.

Not only is Stanford Coachworks proud to work alongside the London Borough of Redbridge, it is also a sponsor of the joint London Borough of Redbridge and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport annual compliance event, which will be held on Wednesday 18th February 2015 in Ilford.

With the event now in its fifth year, it includes a strong line-up

of speakers from the likes of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE), Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), Transport for London (TfL) and Freight Transport Association (FTA), all of whom will address the current and future compliance challenges faced by fleet managers, whether operating freight, passenger, vans and/or grey fleet vehicles. Among the keynote speakers this year is Nick Denton, Traffic Commissioner for London and the South East.

Stanford Coachworks is looking forward to supporting the London Borough of Redbridge at this event, throughout 2015 and for many more years to come.
