PROJECT DESCRIPTION:Perform grading, drainage, concrete pavement installation; install utilities, signals, signs and pavement markings.
� Work begins: January 2016 (Pending utility relocations)
� Estimated completion: January 2017 (Weather permitting)
PROPOSED SCHEDULE*: � Phase I: Intersections and driveways construct half width
– Install traffic signals
� Phase II: Intersections and driveways construct remaining half
– Install traffic signals
� Phase III: Construct concrete pavement and median
� Phase IV: Mill and Overlay – Pavement markings
NEED AND PURPOSE:TxDOT contractors are improving and/or widening 15 intersections in northeast Dallas along State Highway (SH) 78. The project will require various lane closures to provide adequate, safe work zones for crews.
The project will add and/or improve left
turn bays at some locations, and curb ramps at most locations. Signal and utility work will be performed, and new pave-ment markings will be installed.
Intersections receiving additional left turn bay work and signal work: Peavy Rd., Easton Rd., Centerville Rd., Lochwood Blvd., Jupiter Rd., Barnes Bridge Rd. and Spur 244
(Northwest Highway).
Other intersections scheduled for various improvements, including curb ramps and utility work: South Selva Drive, San Patricio Drive, Fuller Drive, Moran Drive, Casa Vale Drive, Alvin Street, Lochmond Circle, Lockwood Blvd., and White Rock Marketplace.
