Background:I was born on 20/01/1987 in Aliwal North. My family moved to Colesberg where I went to school up to grade 7. I then went to Marlow Agricultural High School in Cradock. After School I had to start work and did waiter work in Bloemfontein during night to pay for my studies during daytime at Motheo Fet College. I was accepted during this time for an apprenticeship with Eskom which I completed at Westlake in Cape Town in Dec 2009. I was employed with Eskom 2010, stationed in Petrusville and performing the duties of a Senior

Technical Official and started to do operating on HV apparatus on 22kV networks. It took me 5 months to be fully authorised to do 132kV operating and be promoted to Principal Technical Official. During my time at Eskom I gained a lot of operating, and live work experience and also had the responsibility to train other operators in theory as well as practical training. I was appointed as Individual Training Facilitator at the CNC and also tested the learners according to Eskom standards and procedures. I applied for work with Globeleq and was appointed as a Wind Farm Technician.
