Why and How 3/3

Courtesy E. Carlier

- Add a link directly from the BIS to the retrigger lines- Connect the CIBDS as User on a CIBM to avoid spurious asynchronous beam dumps

From v1 to v2/3

Updates v1 → v2:

- Change the lemo connector to the CIBU

- To simplify soldering

- Bad for CIBU commissioning…

- LED inversion, …

v1 v2

Updates v2 → v3:

- Change polarity for the “PLC local mode” read

back

- Add resistors to

- Protect output to the CIBU

- Protect output to the TD Box

- Get exactly 12V pulse for the TD Box

v3 NOT in operation as not working properly !

Installation in UA63 & UA67

Full rack for:- The BIS FEC

- CIBG B1- CIBM B1- CIBM B2- CIBDS B1

- The CIBU of the CIBDS- The 2 Trigger Delay boxes (+ 1 spare)

Better to have a “how to plug” patch- For optic fibers- For electrical cables

Arming sequence:After some time, done by the sequencer, but before…

→ use of Nodal

Quite challenging to arm and maintain both beams:

4 TSU + 2 CIBDS + 2CIBG to arm and start manually…

All within 5 sec…

→ Keep B1 and B2 independent
