Strategic Dialogue presumes that, Strategy is the result of the formula:

Mobilization × Formulation × Realization

where,Mobilization = creativity, analysis, commitment, participation

Formulation = strategic plan, choices, consistency

Realization = action plan, execution, milestone, monitoring

When to Use it ?To overcome generic pitfalls

during strategy formulation.

Pitfalls involves in three aspects:

1.Scope of the process

2.The execution of the process

3.The choices made during

the process

Scope of the process (Pitfalls)

•Blindly following the competition“Me Too”

•The desire to enter new market at any price

“The grass is always greener”

•Rigidly holding on to what is known

“We have always done it this way”

Execution of the process (Pitfalls)

•Only involving top managements

“An elite activity”

•Continues analysis“Paralysis by analysis”

•Strategy is a compromise“Trying to keep everybody happy”

Choices made during the process (Pitfalls)

•Dominance of the financial considerations“Watch the bottom line”

•Top manager makes every decision“There is only one boss”

•Not transforming choices in to actions“Another good plan”

•Being realistic in short term and optimistic in long term
