Dear Parents, Alumnae, and Friends,

I am pleased to share with you the 2016-20 Strategic

Plan for St. Teresa’s Academy. At STA we proudly follow

the example of our founders and sponsors, the Sisters of

St. Joseph of Carondelet. Like the sisters, we strive toward

excellence and trust God to guide us with the vision and the

courage to always move forward in the best interest of the

Academy.

St. Teresa’s empowers women to find and develop

their many strengths, as students today and as our leaders

tomorrow. The Academy is committed to excellence in

education for young women. We integrate crucial 21st

century learning skills into our college prep curriculum and

promote emotional health and wellness. We are rooted in

the Catholic faith and emphasize service and compassion

for those less fortunate. St. Teresa’s prepares our students to

be leaders who make a difference in our community and our world. We do all this in partnership with

you—our generous parents, loyal alums, and faithful friends.

This plan focuses on our priorities over the next four years. These areas were identified based

on collaboration among our board of directors and faculty, along with input from students and parents.

The Big Six include: Mission and Vision; Teaching and Assessing for Learning; Campus Preservation;

Governance, Leadership and Sustainability; Marketing and Public Relations; and Wellness and Security.

This is our road map for continued success in all areas at the Academy.

We consider it a privilege to carry on the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph to educate the whole

student, both in mind and spirit. This strategic plan honors our founders, our alumnae, and our current

and future STA students--all women of great strength. Thank you for your support and prayers as we

move forward together.

Sincerely,

Nan Tiehen Bone, Class of 1969President
