THANK YOU! To all parishioners who so generously donate BEANS every month for Catholic Charities’ Monthly Grocery Distribution The next distribution date is: October 22nd. Please remember to drop

your beans off in the baskets provided at the entrance of the church before Donna Moe, our volunteer for this ministry, makes the monthly pick-up and delivery.

Dear Parishioners: October is Respect Life Month. Our coordinators Mr. and Mrs. Andy and Rachellia Sonnier have informed us of a number of im-portant activities to raise awareness of the dignity of human life from natural conception until natural death:

October 4th: New Life Counseling Center Respect Life Banquet @ Civic Center October 5-26: CCD Baby Bottle Campaign (Sherry Livingston, Sandi Robinson) October 15: America Needs Fatima Rosary on campus (Ruth McDaniel, Coordinator) October 23: Junior Catholic Daughters Baby Shower (Jennifer Foreman, Coordinator)

The Life Teen students will host a fundraiser during October for their upcoming pilgrimage to the annual March for Life in Washington, DC slated for January. Additionally, our Gabriel Project (Ashley Carrier, Allison Walker, Coordinators), which supports mothers and fathers who choose life with spiritual and material assistance, will be highlighting this ministry and recruiting additional volunteers during October. Please be watching the Bulletin and web site for details on all of these activities during Respect Life Month. Sr. Catherine Leroux, S.E. will facilitate a six-part series entitled the Catholic Divorce Survival Guide on Sundays from 2:00-3:30 here at St. Theodore. The first session will be Sunday, October 9th. Subsequent sessions will be held October 16, 23, and 30, and November 13 and 20. If you or someone you know has suffered the pain of divorce, know that the Church is here to help. For more information, contact Sr. Leroux or call the office. We are grateful for the married couples who assist us in preparing our engaged couples for the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. These “mentor couples” are a vital component of our parish marriage preparation program. Currently, I am working with nearly 30 couples preparing for marriage within the next year. As such, I need more couples to be trained to assist me (and soon Fr. Borel) as mentor couples. There is a training scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd, from 9 am to 3:30 pm at the Diocese. St. Theodore will pay the fee for couples who attend the training and who wish to serve as mentor couples for us. Please let me know if you would consider ministering in this way. For more details, contact any of our current amazing and awesome mentor couples: Tim and Susan Aguillard, Bud and Jamie Barlow, Mark and Shila Cowart, Jeff and Carolyn Dupont, Kirk and Angela Guillory, Mike and Michelle Istre, Danny and Selene Landry, Steve and Shari Leblanc, or James and Heather Oliver. On the weekend of October 8-9, we bid farewell to Deacon Trey Ange as he returns to Notre Dame Seminary to complete his final year of studies and preparation for priestly ordination next summer. Please stop by the portico after any of the Masses that weekend to wish him well and enjoy some refreshments. Please keep Deacon Ange and all of our seminarians in your prayers. Fr. Bert Borel will be joining us on Saturday, October 15th. I am personally grateful to Bishop Provost for sending Fr. Borel to us. He is a good friend and a holy priest. We will formally welcome him to the parish after the morning Masses on Sunday, October 23rd. May God continue to bless our wonderful parish family. St. Theodore, pray for us.

Each person who receives a blanket is put on the prayer list and lifted in prayer. Prayer Blankets are available in the front office.
