My name is Sasi Kathir and I am a Student Ambassador for the Career Services Department at Newnham Campus. Currently, I am in my third semester of the Paralegal Diploma Program. I look forward to an exciting final year and writing the Paralegal licensing exam in August. Working for Career Services has been an amazing opportunity given to me. I have been fortunate to work alongside many wonderful people who have helped my growth at Seneca College. As an Ambassador, I have had the opportunity to fulfill what matters most to me, which is helping people. It makes us, as Ambassadors, feel great when we can encourage students to get more out of their college experience, answer students and guest’s questions, and just put a smile on someone’s face. Sasi Kathir Student Ambassador Career Services NH Career Services has encouraged me to challenge myself and be open to new prospects. In addition to working at Career Services, I am a Peer Mentor for School-College-Work Initiative (Dual-Credit program). Mentoring approximately 20 students has increased my communication skills. I am a Clubs/Association Coordinator Assistant for Seneca Student Federation. This new role has enriched my college experience by meeting new people and increasing my student service skills. Also, I am a Smile Mentor, Orientation Leader, and have had the pleasure to work for Student Services during Convocation. Finally, my experience with the Legal Studies Student Association (LSSA) assisted me to be successful in all these roles. I am the current president of the Legal Studies Student Association, a student run organization associated with the School of Legal and Public Administration at the Newnham Campus. As the president, I have gained valuable leadership skills that I utilize throughout my I truly believe that challenging yourself to new opportunities and getting out of your comfort zone will enrich and enhance your college experience. We see it everywhere around school, “SENECA - Because it matters.” I would like to express my gratitude to everyone at Seneca College from the employers and staff who have shaped me into who I am today and to the students who have made my experience at Seneca College one that I’ll never forget. It is a great pleasure to be writing for this month’s newsletter. My name is Sasi Kathir and I am a Student Ambassador for the Career Services Department at Newnham Campus. Currently, I am in my third semester of the Paralegal Diploma Program. I look forward to an exciting final year and writing the Paralegal licensing exam in August. We had a great training day on Tuesday

co-workers!

With the many inquiries we receive in Student Services, we ask our Ambassadors to track the number and types of questions we are receiving. Please remember to continue to track these during your shift. For September: The front line had approximately 10,266 inquires. The 3 most asked about topics were: 1. Lockers 2. Transportation, transit, shuttle bus schedule 3. Registration, schedules, classrooms, fees

Career Services had over 150 one on one appointments to help students with resumes, interview preparation, job searches and more. In future newsletters, we will include information on these topics to help equip you with the information you need to continue to serve our students.
